Sometimes you can recess it by taking some space from the existing wall space, maybe 3" or so. Might be too much trouble though.

Most brands make a counter depth fridge - have you tried searching Home Depot, lowes, aj Madison - you can usually narrow by depth. We have a fisher & paykal in our galley kitchen because it's one of 2 (other is Samsung) 33 inch wide counter depth fridges

GE Cafe line is counter depth as well as more upscale brands like Viking.

We had a Fisher & Paykel at our old house & loved it. It doesn't get good reviews on Consumer's but we never had any problems.
