Rug: I was thinking 8 x 11. But, what is the size of your current rug?

Can you take your current rug and pull it more towards the closet door, so that it sort of fills in the space at the entrance, yet still is leaving a border of wood around the edges?

Do you like that feel?

I see you have both mirror side stands in the room also. Please center lamps on table. If keeping circle mirror, please lower it. Whatever the distance is from the bottom of mirror to top of headboard, 1/2 that. So, if the gap is now 10 inches, I would suggest 5 inches.

So much better. I love lightening the room with the new rug. I still would like to see something different over the bed.. I like hthe 3 mirror idea. That one by itself is a bit small. Love the pillows now!

I have so enjoyed this whole process. The room looks a great deal improved. But they are right, the mirror above the bed needs to be replaced with something larger and horizontal.

Would this perhaps work? Now I am trying to use what we have because of the expenses of the nightstand, rug, and new lamps :). I honestly couldn't of asked for better advice on here!

How many honeycombs do you have? Let's try an interesting arrangement. You can play with it on the floor: several honeycombs in a sort of freeform arrangement.

Once you're done and when there's room in the budget, perhaps you might consider the kind of tv unit that hides the tv in a credenza-style piece and the tv pops up on and down on hydrolics (the tv remains hidden the entire time.)

It's usually placed at the end of a bed of a very large room. However, as there doesn't seem to be a great location to mount your tv at a reasonable height so that you don't feel the need to become best friends with a chiropractor, perhaps it will do the job for you at the end of your bed. :)

I like all of those arrangements. I have six honeycombs, could possibly find more. They were at target on clearance. My husband really likes the mirror over the bed...I swear. Do you think there is any way we could use it, or at least try to keep it somewhere in the room?

I think the darker color of the honeycombs is better than the mirror since the bedding is light.

I see no other place for the circle art in your bedroom. You want the bed to be the focal point. I don't see a place for the honeycomb either.

But, you will find a place to put the honeycomb somewhere in your house.

I would hang mirror vertically over your dresser. You can remove lamps.

Would you consider candle sconces for either side of your mirror over your dresser?

Like this….but not dark and heavy. Silver. Just giving you visual. You can buy fake candles that look real-remote control on/off or timer.

Total the mirror is about 32".

Or..Would you suggest something more in that shape that you pulled and size?

I like the way that the mirror sconces tie in with the rest of the room.

I am thinking more like the size of the one I posted. For example, the second one is square and I don't think will work.

Here is what you can do to decide shape.

The mirror is 39" high.

Now, measure the width of the dresser. Subtract the width of the mirror (when vertical) and divide by 2. So, that is how much horizontal space you will have on each side.

So, in the photo I posted, the sconces take up about 1/2 the height of the mirror. So, you want your sconces ideally to be about 15" high. So, the first one you chose might work (14"). I am not sure about the width.

Is the first one too much mirror? Well sort of a personal opinion. With the dark frame, I think they can work.

So the dresser is 58" wide and the mirror horizontally is 36" so then 22 in total 11 on both sides. Are we still putting the mirror a bit off the dresser? If so, then I would say probably need bigger then the 15in sconce? The mirror is 39" on dresser, making sconces around 20" high then. How wide? Would maybe 5 or 6 inches due?

I dislike the mirror above the bed. Was way too high and then when you lowered it just didnt do anything for the room. Maybe some type of accent wall. The 2nd thing I dont like is the height of your tv. You will be having neck issues soon. Can the bed be moved on the wall opposite of the bathroom door? Or is it too long.

Hi! The wall is 79 inches and the bed across is 73. I really don't think it will fit comfortably in that space.

Sconces: in the neighborhood of 1/2 the height. Actually, they could be more than 1/2 the height, but will be hard to find.

I think even 14" high might work. If you like the ones from Target, I would buy them and try them.

These are guidelines, not rules.

Width: I think, again, 1/2 the width, so 4-5 " is fine. I think there is more leeway with the width. But don't worry about perfection---just a guideline.

conclusion: the target sconces are probably a good price compared to many! So, I would give them a try. Maybe Kirklands?

ugh I've been searching everywhere for sconces that are reasonably priced and can't seem to find anything. Do you guys have any other ideas for decor?

What about three tall, narrow vases of three different heights. 2 on one side, 1 on the other.

I have always had luck at random goodwill's or resale shops. When you see something that is the right shape forget what color it currently is. There is a WORLD of spraypaint out there that is AMAZING. I do EVERYTHING on a tight buget and the things people have commented on are the things I found at random places and sprayed or added something to. Also, ask your friends on FB or twitter or your family (put a picture of what you are looking for.) They may have them sitting in their basement from a former house or they bought them and never returned them. They maight be thrilled to het them to a person who can actually use them. People love to get rid of stuff!!


The other place I find things is HomeGoods, tj maxx, oh! Do you have World Market or Cost something.... market? They have great stuff sometimes. Also, look in the clearance section. Sometimes there are damaged ones (but not TOO damaged) and you get one good one full price and one that may need a touch up of paint. (this is where sharpies (markers) come in handy....

I would take those glass vases you have and fill them with colorful stones or jewels (available at Micheal's or Hobby Lobby) and maybe some airy floral.

Or, if you have some other vases (like your teal one), you could spray paint them all one color.

So, let's see what you have.

cmbrodie has some good ideas also for vases. All of the places she mentioned are great resources. Let's take the vases you have and see if you can use them and/or if you like the idea and go from there.

here is another idea of low cost high awesome factor. I have done this and you can get paints at Micheal's for as little as 2.oo. I would only do 2 or maybe three colors. maybe silver, purple, turq. The process can get a little messy and take a little while, (gravity is a pain) I think i saw something about using a hairdryer once... but if this doesn't work for you try going to google images of painting inside of glass vases...
