Thanks!! I love it! I had some people tell me the wood stairs would be slippery and have to be more cautious with kids in the house. But so far, so good.

I have wood floor in the entire house (stairs included) and there were no problems. I was told the same thing that it will more slippery, but I actually find it better than the carpet.

Looks good. You won't miss the carpet. Btw your stairs to basement are designed exactly like mine.

Was this wood flooring under your carpet or did you have the flooring put down after the carpet was removed? I have carpeting over wood flooring like yours and I am wondering what kind of damage I will have wear the carpet was attached to the floor.... Did any repair work have to be done to the wood?

Tera, we had carpet over our stairs in the hallway. We could replace the wood on those stairs (they have planks that area stained and not subfloor on which I could instal wood floor). The damage was not too bad. I could see some spots, but nothing that is annoying.

There was just subfloor/plywood on the stairs. I had them put in new steps and risers.

On the main staircase in our home I had wood stairs with a carpeted runner. I removed that last year and it was really nice under the carpet. Maybe I was lucky but after I really didn't have to do much, just had it sanded slightly and resealed. I'll post a photo of it later (Im stuck at my son's basketball tournament this weekend) cough cough I mean I'm *enjoying* another basketball tournament this weekend. ;)
