The sofas and chairs look mis-matched especially against the area rug.

Not lovin’ the black couch, not because of the color, but because it is so puffy.

Are the two black chairs Asian? Are they comfy?

If not (and you want to get rid of the beige sofa) how about a small black sectional and then just use the little chairs as accents.

I would keep the beige couch and change the rug and curtains.

-- Something more tailored would work better with your chairs. The sofa you pictured looks massive, like you are trying too hard, and would totally dominate the room. iamjudy [above] is right with her suggestion of a simple, track-arm sectional. Have not seen the layout of your room though so I do not know what configuration would work best.

You could also choose a color from your rug to paint the walls.

I, too, like the couch you have NOW better. Have the couch and chairs trade places and make sure the rug is going the same direction of the couch, so they fit together. Place a chair on either side of the couch, and see how they look separated from each other. Have the two chairs facing each other on the ends of the couch.

It looks like you have a neutral color palette to work with-- this should be fun and easy! Have you considered a gray or beige sofa instead? Thank you all so much. The beige couch is worn out so it will have to go. I like the idea of a small sectional and feel it would better suit the room. The space is rather small.

Be sure to measure the sectional before committing to buying it to make sure it fits if the room is that small.

I agree with Andie and would like to add that a sofa without a skirt would look better in a small room. Legs showing opens/lightens up the piece more. Try to avoid heavy-looking furniture throughout the space. Your existing chairs are wonderful and will work for sure! Depending on how much seating you need, a sectional might be too much. Maybe a 3 cushion sofa would be enough?

Agree with Dytecture. Cherrykm, consider getting two matching sofas. The rug looks great. Beige sofas with red accent pillows might do it.
