Vintage sliding door between the dining room and kitchen . . . . while we are in cobalt territory. Now if I would only take an after construction photo when my things are back on the shelves beyond . . .

I love blue. I just brought a bunch of old blue biscuit tins up from the basement and tucked them into the corner of a large cabinet in my gold and rust dining room, where they balance out the blue bowl and blue-green tagine in the other corner of the cabinet. My bedroom is as blue as I can make it. I recently bought a dark green Pottery Barn TV armoire on Craigslist - am slowly making it blue and white with Annie Sloan chalk paint, and retrofitting it as a "hold all" clothes cupboard. I'd love to have a bold splash of blue like libradesigneye's blue door.

Does a blue exercise ball count?:) One of the bedrooms is painted in a blue-gray color and has the same shade for the bedding. Other than that, my guest chairs in the office are a blue-gray, some blue in a painting and the blue Coaching Scenes dishes.

    Printesa,
I can see you've managed to put the painting up! Looks fab! (mine is still on the floor, but it got moved from the kitchen to our bedroom).
I love your office chair, it looks great! All ready for Xmas?
Luciana, yes, we managed to put it up not too long ago. I'm hoping to finish the fireplace in Spring.
The office chair is pretty cute. I needed something small since the room is not too large. I found the chair at Ligne Roset (Tazia chair).
As for being ready for Christmas, not even close:) We got the tree last night and it's still outside...I will have to be decorated today or tomorrow,,or at least brought in the house:) Cleaning is an ongoing project and baking will have to start in weekend ( not too much though because calories add up quickly:)) I still have some presents to get...
    How about you? all ready?

Taking about paintings and blue things - most of the blue stuff we have are actually paintings (given to us by MIL, we actually prefer modern-abstract style). Considering my excellent organizational skills (??!??) and super nagging powers (yeah right!), most of them are still on the floor, one year after moving in. Below is what our guest room will look like for another 48 hours - because after we have to get it ready cos MY MOTHER is coming for Christmas! (can you tell she terrifies me? any chance Christmas will be cancelled this year? pretty please...)

@Printesa - Nope, not even close to being ready. I'm just cowered in a corner, too scared to do anything except browse Houzz. Haven't bought the tree yet, my wreath is only half done, I refuse to go shopping... I'm just waiting for the proverbial miracle and for things to be somehow (miraculously) done...

I love your Paris apartment! It's nice to have one there whenever you visit, especially that you are not that far from it (we are tiny bit farther than you:)).
I know what you mean by waiting for a miracle..I don't like shopping and I am hoping I can avoid at least going to the mall ( I dread the malls)..we'll see how things turn out:)

Blue is the one color that I don't have in my entire house! When I was growing up and even still today, my Mom had blue EVERYTHING! Blue couch, blue flower wallpaper, etc.

I too love blue and wear it a lot. For some reason I don't like it as a decorating colour. No blue in my home outside the closets.
Where do I start! I have blue throughout my home, it's my favorite color and I collect blue and white antique Chinese porcelain. I have no blue painted rooms, I use it as a recurrent accent. My living room is full of it and my bedroom ceiling, and on and on....

In most houses I lived, I had blue kitchens. This spring we painted the kitchen yellow taking inspiration on Vermeer's milkmaid and mixing blue and yellow. Sorry about the poor quality of photos, they do not really justice . I adore the Chinese collection from previous letter( name is concealed) I found the Spode oval platter at a local antique market for a mere € 5.00

My dining room is done in grayed blue to match the color in my good china. The table is set here for Christmas using a pretty blue and silver snowflake cloth which echoes the sparkly blue snowflake above. The bureau was a garage sale find lovingly refinished almost 40 years ago. Blue is not my favorite color to decorate with, but I love it in my dining room.
