Very nice...what color gray on accent wall? A bit concerned about lack of overhead lighting, though.

good job! One thing I'd suggest is some brighter pillows on the sofa as the room is a bit too dark and there is very little contrast. Oh and maybe a very large mirror where the tv used to be to bounce around some light. And the blinds are not substantial enough and look lost;. How about some wood blinds with the wider slats.

@dclostboy the gray accent color is Behr Simple Silhouette 790b-5. The lack of overhead lighting is indeed a concern that I'm trying to resolve.
I was thinking recessed lighting or some torch lamps in both corners.

@oneofeleven, thanks for the tip on the pillows. You are right! the room needs some contrast. I'm keeping the place where the tv used to be for a large black and white profesional family pic :-) and the blinds and windows are going to go through some overhaul as well. The trims on the windows will be painted white and I'm incline to install panel treatments on the windows. what do you think?

@KShoa, the credenza is a for sure a bit on the lower side... I still like it though.
The tv is at eye level and so far it feels pretty comfortable from any viewing angle.

I,m not sure about the panels. First,, the wall space is small and they take up extra space. Second you've gone to all the trouble to paint the wall with some contrast and the panels will conceal that. Lastly, I think most panels would draw attention away from your photo which is an important part of the room.


Just some ideas

I know you haven't asked but have you thought about a different coffee table? The one you have seems a bit too tall and it doesn't work for both couch and chairs. Maybe you could put a small end table by the couch to hold drinks and put a footstool in the place of the table. If you need a table you can put down a tray and if not people can put their feet on it. You could have a lighter coloured footstool to introduce that contrast.
