IMO an over size clock is a clock, and never decor. If you need to know what time it is, check the TV. Go for a large piece of art above the wall wing of the sofa. Consider angling the chaise section of your sofa by the window with a side table and lamp for a reading corner. Get a storage hassock for a coffee table so the kids can have a few toys in the area. Place it 18" from the longest remaining sofa section and add a tray on top. Be sure the lid is spring loaded so it won't fall on anyone's head if they open it. Looks like that may be the wing perpendicular to the wall. Add a second side table for the wall wing with another lamp. The side tables and lamps don't have to match unless you prefer it that way. Not sure what to advise for TV. Normally I'd want a credenza under it but the ledge is in the way of lowering the set to a proper height. Would you consider taking it off the wall and putting it on top of a credenza?

What about a full width cabinet under the tv (the white trim gave me the idea)?

You could make two large squares/rectangles with masking tape and hang all sorts of smaller decoration inside it, with some space inbetween. Remove the tape when done and enjoy your collage. Or hang some smaller things grouped randomly together.
Or some large pieces of art, enlarged family pictures or draings from your children?

Looking at that white ledge again, have you considered doing wainscot below it so it isn't such a big horizontal line at that end of the space? Just paint the wall under it in the same white and attach some trim pieces to give it a "installed" feeling. This bedroom shows a style that you could adapt. Then you could add a buffet or cabinet below it for the TV so that you have more height than a credenza would give you. Even a second hand buffet could be painted to work with your room. If you want the TV itself to fade out of site a bit, you might paint the wall behind it in a brown like the sofa.
