Renovating a kitchen is a major design task and not to be undertaken lightly. The best advice anyone can give you is to find a pro to help you with at least the basic layout, lighting and structural elements. You may feel that hiring a design professional is not cost efficient, but if you get into the middle of the project and hit a wall (no pun intended), you will find a pro is worth their weight in gold.

Check the pros list on Houzz to see if there are any in your area, then see if they will schedule an initial interview to see their portfolios and make sure your goals are compatible. You should feel comfortable not intimidated by whomever you hire and they should be willing to work within your needs and your budget. Be upfront with them about what you expect and ask them to do the same with you.

Most kitchen redos run in the thousands of dollars and making costly mistakes trying to do it yourself can really be a money pit in the long haul. Do yourself and your pocketbook a favor by getting it right the first time. :)

I would like to know how many peoples is living un this kitchen? Wich room is over that brick wall?

For starters, I would consider removing the soffits and changing the lighting. While the photos show the entire room, it make a huge difference to actually be physically in the room. I would have a couple local contractors/designers come by and get their input on what you can do with the walls and layout.

carolleldls: There are 4 people in my home. The room that you see the brick wall in is our back living room. There is an idea of moving the kitchen table to the back room for space.

Agree with all the comments. You could change the knee wall by the stairs to make it deeper - here's an example from the This Old House site:

These shelves could hold a lot of your kitchen stuff. I'd add a several electrical outlets in one of the shelves for a charging station for all your electronics. We remodeled eight years ago. At that time we included two four-gang outlets in our pantry. The outlets are set about 5 feet up from the floor, for a charging station. We use those outlets every day.

Bright colors, hang some pictures on the wall, maybe a giant center piece in the middle of the kitchen table!

Alorac: THANK YOU for the amazing idea! I actually like the bookshelves. Adding electrical outlets onto one of the shelves or in a pantry is an idea that I would not have thought of either. Thank you for the great suggestions!

Is your idea is changing all or your would prefer find an other organization on this kitchen?
I find there is a few thing you could do with that kitchen but of corse, if you really want an open space, the plan will be different an higher price! You see, where are those cabinets behind the table. It is possible to have a 15" deep cabinets on all that wall and leave 24" between the top and the button cabinets. This will give you a place for all your small electric machines (micro-waves, coffee, small oven…) Also, if you block that hole where you see the living room, you could add a few cabinets. Add to this a beautiful backsplash, paint the cabinets in a light color or white (some people do a very good job spraying the doors). I live in Quebec City and my speciality is changing at a lowest price. See what you want to do!

Carolleldls - we are open to doing anything that will make the kitchen functional, useable, and a good space for people to be in. Thank you for your ideas. Cabinets along that wall is something we have thought of doing. :)
