We just finished a mini kitchen renovation replacing counters, appliances and tile. We kept our cabinets but repainted in white. The counters are grey granite and the tile is a cobalt blue ogee tile. The breakfast bar which was previously tiled was replaced with a walnut top. Floors are oak. Don't know what style your house is but ours is a three story, American foursquare built in 1902 so we wanted a traditional design with clean, modern lines.
