Please please use a white. You could put a black toilet seat but stay classic on porcelainware.

Do white! My aunt just moved and one of the bathrooms have a black toilet. My opinion, it is scary because you cannot see to bottom of the toilet. Please do white!

I can't believe It, but I'm going to say black. With what you describe for your bath, it is dark and moody. I think a white toilet will be a focal point in such a dark, small space, which wouldn't be a good thing.

I would get samples of your materials and see how it looks with other colors other than white or black. Their may be another color out there that you don't even know about. Ice Grey, Thunder Grey, Dune, etc.

What about the ice grey toilet. I am scared the white will stand out too much.

Is there ANY other white element in the room? Trim? Window? Door? Ceiling color? White fixture alone in a darker composition is going to become a focal element. Toilet could detract. If other common features like trim and windows are white, it slips into a commonplace association of elements, falls back down focal point ladder.

W. H. I. T. E. --- we have a black toilet in our half bath and it never looks clean!!! They look great before they are used and eventually scratched. It's mortifying that guests think the toilet seat has urine drips on the seat :-/

Hope you're planning for lots of lighting as those dark colors can soak up so much light that you can't see yourself in the mirror. If not selling in the next 5, do gray with a black or mocha seat and lid. If selling, do white.

Have you already bought all of the above?
And what else will be white in he room? (trim, door, ceiling?)

A small bathroom in these colors is something to carefully plan and design, risky business.

I agree on all of the comments above white (or pale) porcelain is the most timeless and fresh looking pick.

White toilet and white lid. Using a black lid only brings focus to the toilet, not exactly what we want to focus on in a bath room.

Rinqreation's pictures are very helpful. The "Gorgeous Hall Bathroom" and the charcoal gray one just listed as "bathroom" give a good idea of how a white toilet still looks good in a room when all the other permanent features (sink, shower, etc.) are darker shades. In both cases, crisp white towels are used to provide a nice contrast and tie in the color of the toilet to the room.

I think I will go with the white. Have decided black is out. Still wondering on the gray. Will paint woodwork and doors white to tie the toilet in.

Black toilets are very bad to show water spots. Go white.

Wise choice Beverly. Notice the overwhelming consensus, it is there for a reason. Every black toilet I have seen looks filthy and dated and everyone I know who has had them has ripped them out even though they were in good working order.
