Hard wood flooring and dogs - help

12 years ago
I have 2 dogs and interested in hardwood floors to replace carpet. I have 2 contractors with differing opinions. One says engineered floating floor is the best for dogs; other swears by nailing down (not correct term) hardwood floor. I want a wider distressed looking plank, seems it would work better for dogs and I like the look. Any thoughts? Thank you
