My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Is there a rule for the distance between the kitchen counter (where the oven is) and island? I've read it should be about 3feet but I sometimes think that feels cramped.

    I start at four and work back if needed. The min. would be 3'-6".

    The proper set back is 42 inches but you can go more to what your comfortable with.

    3 is minimum, but if you a dishwasher or fridge surrounding your island, you will definitely want it wider if possible.
