Hi Designers.
I am about to purchase the 84" http://www.restorationhardware.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod150011 for our new dining room.

Other components in the Dining Room will be:
Wall color: Not selected yet but cool silvery white (Benjamin Moore suggestions welcome.)
Floor: whitewashed maple 2" strip flooring satin finish.
Windows and sunlight: great sunlight (mostly western) and is approx a 14' square with several doorways or doors to living room, kitchen, powder room and pantry off of it. We have 1 south-facing window, four west facing windows, and 1 north facing window. Views of mature yard.
Dining chair: We intend to use citrus green and chrome modern chairs that we currently own for the next 1-2 years (see attached images).
Sideboard/china cabinet: we will be keeping our mid-century sideboard (about 4'6" tall and 4' wide) in the room (see attached picture). It has a glass front and a typical reddish wood finish.
Overhead pendant or chandelier: TBD. Have any of you seen it or used it ? How much light does it provide ? Should I buy one or two for an 84" table ?

We want to create a modern-farmhouse aesthetic, light and airy, cohesive with the rest of the house, which is a 3-story, 100-year old farmhouse, simple, full of character, sunny.

So HOUZZ Braintrust, I need to make a decision about whether to order the table in the GREY Acacia finish or BROWN Acacia finish. In the RH store, the grey reads as a matt finish natural. Surface is absolutely smooth. It has a greater visual bulkiness. The brown, which is a dark brown, looks more refined. The legs tend to visually disappear, unlike the grey. The surface is grained and not absolutely smooth. Its more of a satin finish. If scratches were to appear on either finish, I think they would be easier to hide on the brown acacia. If we ever needed to change the look of the table, I think the grey acacia would be an easier surface to paint or wrap in sheet metal or leather. The brown is the safe bet. The grey challenges me aesthetically but I think might be the right choice for the look we want to achieve in this house. I need thoughts from all of you.
