Is it just me, or has houzz again changed the menu item that used to say discussions, to talk, now to advice?

Why does it bother you? You're using a free site with fabulous designs gathered from across the world. I assume Houzz exists to sell my email address to other sites that want to attract up-scale (ha ha; don't tell them about me) folks.

And maybe it wasn't their intention, but I've learned so much from other commenters. Long live Houzz.

    Mine still says Discussions

mcqk, don't get your panties in a bunch :))
I was just asking, I was in no way complaining. At one point I saw different options on both of my computers and I wondered what it was about. I happen to own and run my own website forum since 2009, free to all the members around the world, so I completely understand. Just wasn't sure why even my laptop showed even different than my desktop.

    Don't forget Q&A! ;)

That's odd Nancy, I could have sworn it was back to Discussions over on my laptop recently, but I figured they were still trying to make up their houzz mindzz.

    Prefer Discussions BTW. (Discussionzz...)

Personally I think they should change the button to *ask Margo*;)))

For a while yesterday, it said Forum. Doesn't bother me, except when they change the search feature. That required some figuring out.

Luckily they keep the icon the same, but I noticed the same thing. When it changed from discussion to Talk I tracked with the change fast enough, but it took me a second or too longer to find Advice. It was like a rapid fire change.

Mine is back to Discussions after being Advice yesterday...why keep changing it?
lol, mine says advice now. Maybe trying to pick a word that seems informative and friendly that people want to click and join in?

I don't think talk was good, because some newcomers might think that means click to talk voice?

    Advice makes sense.

Something different every time I log in. I wish they would make up my mind. The font changes are harshing my mellow.

    Mine now says "Advice." LOL!

Yes, I noticed, but I like a change in the menu, lol.

I noticed this happening several days ago and I find it to be truly aggravating! I am seeing what Mac Interiors described. Settle on one format, Houzz!

Mine has gone from Discussions to Forum to the current Advice. Not sure why it keeps changing but no biggie for me.

It's been 'discussion,' 'talk,' 'advice' and now back to 'discussion' since I started posting regularly a month or so ago. I suspect they're going with discussion as it sounds more upscale to portray a high-end feel to their site. So long as they keep the icon in the same place, I don't really care what they call it.

I would like to see more off topic conversations that aren't 3,000 posts long. Those tend to become limited to just a few people. I don't post as I don't know all that's gone on in the thread.

Advice is fine with me because that is pretty much what people are posting in this area. Once in a while we get before and afters on here though and maybe they should add a heading for those. ??

What kind of device are all of you on? I am on my I pad and I see discussions? Also on my Android phone. I don't recall seeing the other designations at all.

I do like the recent update to the android app. I couldn't see discussions on my phone at all until then. I am having some trouble with links in the iPad app, though. Sometimes they will connect and sometimes not. Go figure!

I haven't checked my android app lately to see if I could view discussions
  • 12 years ago
ok, just checked, nothing at all available for discussions, or "advice"
