Our 1918 house has original floors on the first floor with inlaid border defining entry, living room and dining room. The entry wood is very worn and has holes where the radiators used to be. Our contractor for a remodel suggests replacing entry with marble, tile or stone. What kind of pattern would fit with the lovely traditional floors in the rest of the house?
