Should I paint my box store bed?

I have been carrying this magazine page around for over a year and I am finally re-doing our master bedroom so that it resembles this beautiful room. I have several antique furniture pieces that I would never paint, but I've read that you should never have a room full of the same colored furniture. I do have a king sized sleigh bed that was purchased at a box store. My question, should I paint it and if so, what color? My color scheme is the same as this room. Thanks for any advice!

If the sleigh bed is in excellent condition I would not paint it. I think a table or an accent chair in a painted finish with some beautiful upholstery would look so much nicer.

Can you just sell the sleigh bed or repurpose it in another room of your home?

Paint it. I like them painted it gets away from all the matchy, matchy it's not like it is a treasured antique.

I agree with Patricia. There is nothing wrong with painting a few pieces... Especially those you would like to utilize specifically. In the case of a master bedroom, a painted bed can easily be a pleasant focal point. You will also find freedom in utilizing all kinds of fabrics and duvets you didn't think possible in your earlier color story.

Lot of similar colors create a monotonous look ,so depending on your sleigh bed the option is good but you will have to complement with some other furniture too to give unity lookwise

I think some changes for the curtains will have to be made ,but initially you have to decide on the focal point and then work from there..If you can post a better pic it will be easy

christian, why don't you look on Houzz in the Photo section, click on "bedrooms" and type "sleigh bed" in the search box...you might get some ideas that will help you make a decision to paint or not and what color to paint the bed.
