Lighting help for large kitchen

I have been searching for the perfect lighting over my large island (11'2" long x 5'5" deep) that fits my decor. I have had a row of 5 small pendants but I have been thinking about something larger scale. Our ceiling height is 8'6", so the fixture can't be too tall. Any idea/suggestions would be appreciated! -Thanks! Oh, and if you suggestions for kid friendly counter stools I'd take those too!

You have a very beautiful space. My suggestion would be to look for two pendants that are about 28" in diameter. One company that has really fantastic fixtures would be Curry & Company. Take a look at these.

As far as stools, are you looking for upholstered, swivel? What are you looking for inn a stool besides kid friendly?

Thank you for the suggestion. I really like the middle one. I will look at that website. The other problem I have had has been deciding on the finish, oil rubbed bronze or brushed nickel. What would you recommend?

As for stools, I was thinking upholstered, non swivel. I had thought about a low or no back, as you can see by my wood chairs, the kids have no problem pushing the stools in! ;) I definitely want a generous seat so that everyone feels comfortable sitting at the counter.
