A white, or charcoal grey would be lovely.

You already have a mini-backsplash built into the counters. You don't necessarily need a separate backsplash. See what the blue walls look like when they're done. Palace Blue is a lot of blue for the kitchen ...

I agree that the small backsplash you already have is enough, especially since it fits perfectly under your window. I'd hate to see the kitchen end up looking cluttered with a busy backsplash design, and I think adding a backsplash over the one you have will be less effective.

White subway tile would look nice. I suggest painting the walls white and add a colorful roman shade with a bit of the teal in it.

Hey, personally I'd be looking at a wall paint in the family of your cabinets with a taupe undertone. Backs plash would be a clean 1" square mosaic that combines blue, golden taupe, and a little silver. I like the style of your pendant. Maybe a similar style but smaller and in Galvanized Aluminum, Pewter or Aged silver.

Thank you for sharing your project. I'd offer three suggestions:
1) Contact these fellow houzzers. (I'm not sure what part of the country you are in) They do beautiful work, and will be able to give you several design ideas for materials/design of the back-splash.

2) Change out your cabinet and drawer pulls to a selection that in some way picks up the blue in your design
3) Since all of the blue colors in the kitchen will be from the counter above, try to acquire an area/work rug or mat that brings the blue down to your floor.

Lots of possibilities! Just don't add a new color. There is enough color already. Consider a neutral like grey or white. Or maybe a glass tile to match your wall color. One other word of advice: pick your tile BEFORE you finalize your wall color. There is a finite number of wall tile choices but an infinite paint colors.
