How did you hang them?

I have a lot of plates and platters that were my mom's and grandmother's. I've often thought about displaying them on my wall so that they can be decorative and accessible as serving pieces.

How did you hang these plates? Just regular plate holders? Glue?

I had a company called I-level install these for us. They use all kinds of tricks like gluing fasteners to the backs to make the hang perfectly. It takes a lot of work to install an installation like this. I have tried to do it myself but now I hand it over to the professionals

Thanks for the info. A lot of the platters I have are odd shapes/sizes. I don't really want to alter them to make them into an artistic statement since they're family pieces. I may just end up installing plate rails on the wall for the VIP pieces. :)

Could someone please share the information about how the plates were attached to the wall. I have a large majolica collection I would like to hang and do not want to use the spring type hangers. Thanks!

Its very tricky hanging heavy plates - we had the hangers install hooks on the back.

You can buy a variety of plate hanger s @ Michaels...the are not completly hiden thou - once plate is mounted you can see 4 very small hooks on the corner of each plate.

How'd you cut the plates?

I read in a previous article about this picture that the plates are cut with a high power water saw. There is no blade just a high powered almost laser powerful jet of water. Definitely need a professional for the crisp straight edges on these plates without any tiny chips or nicks.
