Things to consider are: the wood specie, color range, & finish/top coats.
All three are factors when it comes to U.V. damage.

Cherry, for example (and Maple) can be some of the most difficult to deal with, whereas white oak, hickory, and even walnut are more forgiving.
Stain/ color choices... in our product line, we lean in the direction of using stains & dyes that have U.V. inhibitors, making them less likely to show effects from direct sunlight.
Lastly, some finishes are better suited than others in the area of photo sensitivity... so I'd suggest doing some homework there as well.
