You could go with large folding glass doors which are lighter and work just like a closet door.

So what is largest set (2) of French doors would you recommend? I'm thinking of 2 4' doors that swing out back against house...do u feel there would be any trouble with sagging, weatherstripping? Seems this would be easiest, then allowing 8' of opening viewing out to pool/yard...thank you for your help.

A good quality door manufacture should offer a product that shouldnt have any problems with sagging, or weatherstripping issues. Have you thought of a quad french door? By this I mean a 2 (2'6" swing doors), with 1'6" fixed side lite panel on either side... Just another option... I would consider looking at Marvin, Loewen, Kolbe & Kolbe, or for the best bang for your buck look at Windsor Windows & Doors! Good luck with your project!

No problem as I thought more about your project, if your looking for frecnh doors, with venting side lites, check out Atrium Patio Doors. Atrium is owned, and made in the same facility as the Windsor products.. Windsor windows are manufactured in Iowa.. Both Windsor and Atrium are offered through distributers.. If you go to Windsors site, you should be able to search for distributers in your area for both products. There are a lot of good ideas here. I would go with the folding door (expensive), or some sidelights. If you go with a 4' door, you may have trouble finding a manufacturer to warranty it. They sometimes put a heavy duty piano type hinge because they are concerned it will sag.

Yes...understand that...may have to give up something...maybe best ti do what you did here....simply 2 three foot doors....shouldn't be a problem putting offset hinges on 3' door I assume so they fold back against house outside...???
