These are poured in place concrete tops. I left them natural in color and applied several coats of Iron Clad Concrete sealer. Concrete tops offer wonderful flexibility in regards to long lengths, turning corners, etc without unsightly seams. I have used concrete tops on several of my project and all of my customers love them.

I have a question I hope you can help me with. I notice that the backsplash tile only goes to the top of the cupboards. The range hood "chimney" goes to the ceiling. Is there a gap between the wall and the range hood at the top of the "chimney"? Did you have to use some sort of trim to fill in this gap?

Hey Sara - Yes we actually shimmed out the wall behind the vent hood surround by the same thickness and width as the stainless cover. Once the drywall work was done we painted the 1/2 spacer to match the walls. At the end of the day one can not even notice the stainless tube is not actually resting against the back wall.
