I would make them match the floor as closely as possible. You can paint them with a color that has the same tone. Or you could do an oil rubbed bronze finish if it blends well. You don't want them to be a design element in the room, rather they should almost disappear.

Interesting question. Most hardwood installers can provide you with a grill cover that matches you hardwood. But with hand scraped floors, I guess a matching gill cover is next to impossible. I'd ask you installer for a complimentary wood grill cover. If that doesn't work, I'd stick with a dark bronze metal cover (assuming your floors are a darker species).

For acacia hand-scraped hardwood, I’d go with a wood register that closely matches the floor’s tone and finish. A flush-mount style can also give a cleaner, more seamless look. If you’re concerned about small items falling into the vent, a floor register trap underneath can help.

Instead of trying to match the wood flooring I will advise to match the predominant metal finish in your room.
