Perhaps the water splatter issue is due to the design of the faucets or the user themselves.

Thank you. That is possible. User would be me... I do like my faucets but, it's hard to get any
large pots. etc. in without some getting on counter. I try and watch when using, just
seems to happen regardless. Being right handed, tend to want to use right side.

What is your countertop that it will be damaged by water? Your sink does look awkward, I agree. Perhaps a different faucet that would allow you to fill the other side would help.

Here is one example of a sink that should work for you (there are several enameled cast iron sinks on the Kohler website that will fit your existing sink opening).
I also recommend replacing that 2-handled / side spray faucet with a single handled, high arched spout that has a pull down spray. It will look less cluttered & be much easier to use plus, it will only take up a single hole in the sink!
And believe it or not, high spouts that are in proper scale to the sink will splash less.

Don't worry about water damaging your laminate countertop, since this material is designed to withstand moisture.
The material beneath the laminate however should never get wet & if this is happening, then your sink needs to be sealed with caulk from below (not on top where it will look ugly).

It's laminate. Already on edge, just in front of sink, getting slightly rough. Then
in another spot along edge to the rt. starting to come up where they glued. (sharp edge).
I wish had gotten solid surface, put extra money in cabinets (lighting), the well
was running dry on additional upgrades. The holes for faucet is on the right,
and feels awkward using left side, almost at all.

New counter tops are not an option or I would go that route. Thanks again.

I think a copper apron sink deep one bowl would look very nice and the color flow with the sink and counter top would look very nice too.

That had crossed my mind, just didn't know if that would be too much brown.

The problem is not getting water on laminate. The problem is with the installation. I had a similar sink on a laminate countertop for 22 years and never had such a problem. There must be a good seal between the bottom edge of the sink and the countertop. If not water gets under the edge and seeps into the board or whatever under the actual laminate.
How long has the sink been installed? There should be some redress for you on this issue, unless it has been say four or five years. But even then, this should not be happening. You should not have to spend $600 for a new sink which unless the installation issue is addressed will not solve the problem.

I've moved into a home with this sized sink and my husband and I have never had so many problems with water going EVERYWHERE! The sink size/layout is very difficult to work with and we are firm believers in DISHWASHERS...so we rarely use the sink for dishes...more for rinsing. This isn't a "user" issue, it is a design/construction issue. Just my 2 cents worth.

House was built 2010, 4 yrs. They were not happy about repairs first yr., probably not much help now. Thanks to you all. Appreciate knowing I am not the only one with layout not be easy to use. Just wish lg. side had been on right with handles, plus being right handed. Thanks again.
