Need help designing my living room!

So I finally have my old Living room set gone and I'm looking to get an ikea set. I have a black/brown tv stand in the room already and it's kinda stuck on that wall due to the tv outlet. I have a high ceiling in my apartment and lots of sun light enters during the day so it's nice and bright. My carpet is sandy beige and walls are some sort of a light ivory shade --can't change the paint color.
It's a nice big -almost square- room however I have the sliding door on one wall and a the bedroom door near the other in the area separating the living room from the dining room area.

I was considering getting a grey sofa similar to the Stockholm dark grey sofa or maybe the karlstad light grey sofa. Maybe get a sofa and two accent chairs with funky cushions bs a nice rug. Please advice me on what you think might look good in this room. I had a brown sofa and a green/brown damask chair before so I'm trying to stay away from those colors, I need something fresh.

If you think I should get the light grey karlstad IKEA sofa with the ( beige legs), do you think it will look okay with the black/brown tv stand??? Or should I stick with something like the Stockholm sofa with dark legs to match the tv stand. Also having to like grey, what kind of table and side tables do you think would match any of these sets.

Some Ikea coffee and end tables. Instead of wall decals or a plant, a tall cupboard like the one below would also work.

HI there! Okay, first of all, you do not need to worry about matching woods. Doing so can actually date a room. I think gray is a great option for this space. Any of those couches would work. I would test them out to see the comfort level.

Hi there! I think I prefer the darker Karlstad sofa in your room as it will provide more contrast to your light walls, carpet and curtain panels. You don't have to worry about matching up sofa legs with the TV stand - or matching up any of your woods, for that matter. These days, it's all about the mix, so choose whichever coffee table you like best! The same consideration should be taken with coffee and end tables, though -'that you might want to go with a medium to dark wood for better contrast.

Also, if you will be buying two end tables, do not make the end tables a pair. Maybe match the coffee and one end table as a set, but for the second end table choose something a bit different - maybe round instead of square, for example.

It looks like you have just enough room for the sofa and one end table for sure. Maybe put the one end table at the end closest to the window, so the sofa doesn't look like it's crammed into the corner. If you don't have room for an end table at the bedroom door end, perhaps a small moveable C table or drum stool that is placed almost in front of the sofa could work. Alternatively, a floor lamp on that side will provide balance to the end table plus a table lamp on the other side.

I'm post I g so e pillow ideas below. These are all from a. Etsy vendor called Loubella. Blues and golds, with small hits of red or orange,would look pretty with your grey sofa.

You will probably have a lot of bare wall space on the TV side of the room. Consider getting a wall decal (will post one below) that might use up some of that space visually. A large plant would also work.

You may be able to fit a smallish arm chair next to the sofa in the bedroom door side. If you place it perpendicular to the sofa and angle it just a bit, your conversation area will look more cozy.
