With a room this large, you can easily break it up into two areas.

I would start by buying two large area rugs to define each space. They need to coordinate but not necessariy match........the bigger the better........12 x 15 would be good.

The ceiling is ok unpainted since it is so high, but I would replace the two lights with ceiling fan / lights. Because the room is large, make sure that you buy large span ceiling fans....

The curtains need to be replaced with simpler curtains without a pattern.
I can only see the one window. If you have the budget, you should consider replacing the windows with taller windows that go close to the floor.........to bring in lots of light and fresh air.
