I'm trying to decide where to hang my chandelier in the house we are building. The foyer is part of a very large open space that includes a den and fireplace. The front door is on the right side and an open staircase to the basement is on the left. The ceiling will be open with decorative king trusses. The ceiling is 20 feet high. The front door is a double door with arch top window. So....do I center the chandelier on the front door....or on the center beam of the room (center of foyer)? My feeling is that it should be centered on the front door, but I have been getting push back from others to center it on the foyer. Help!
