A black kitchen can look great with glass cabinet doors.

thanks for the picture. I really like the look I am just wondering about practicality, I have heard the glass can steam next to the stove.

The only time that would happen is if you don't turn on your exhaust fan when cooking.I love glass cabinets for uppers they just somehow make the kitchen seem lighter.

What is your plan for the interior? Are you going to paint them black also? If so, then it's not really going to lighten things up all that much.

Plus, have you ever owned a black car? Had a black smooth top stove?? If you had, you'd know that despite constant cleaning, it always looks dirty 5 miutes later. Black can look really great, but it is a LOT of work to keep it looking great. And you have to pay attention to your lighting plan, and ramp up the number of fixtures and the amount of lumens that they put out.

Life isn't a photo shoot with production assistants wiping things down just before a shot and all the supplemental lighting bounced off of a reflector to light up the dim areas. Black is a lot harder to live with in that real world.

thanks for the input. the picture above is what the finished product will look like. so I will be having a light colored countertop and have lots of natural light. so my main concern was keeping the glass clean.
