Which rustic home would you pick?

Both of these homes would look great in a scenic vacation location, but which one do you prefer?
Tell why in the comments!

I like a rustic home, but not a log home, so I vote for #2. I can't open the links to the plans.

Hi rocketjcat, here are the links. Do these work for you? If not, you can just head to eplans.com and type in the code portion (HWEPL76651 and HWEPL76647).

I love bungalow plans, and the landscaping in #2 out front looks great.

Thanks, those links worked. I still like #2 better. In #1, I don't particularly like walking in the front door into the backs of chairs at the bar, and the 2 extra doors in the laundry pantry area I think are unnecessary. I also prefer showers to tubs, and double sinks at least in one bath. . In #2 the only thing I would change is to the corner fireplace. Very hard to decorate around so I would prefer that square on the wall. Just my unprofessional thoughts.

#1 BUT....I'd pass on the whole 2 storey ceiling in the LR.

    Besides that...love it.

I voted for #1. It looks very much like my house from the outside, but the dormers are different. The layout is similar to the original layout of my house too. It was remodeled by the previous owners and I would love to return it to something like this where the stairs are in the middle of the home and visible from the entryway. The only thing I don't like about #1 is having to go through the bedroom to get to the downstairs bathroom. Very unpractical. I would change that somehow. I also think I would eliminate the bar. I prefer a closed kitchen.

Option 1, if I'm going rustic I want grass though I do love the look of the stone backyard.

Takin everything into consideration I would have to go with #2. I really like the exterior of the first one but the floor plan just doesn’t work. First floor looks to cramped.

#2 is just a traditional house with cedar shakes, so I chose 1 solely on the fact that is was the only rustic option.

#2 would be my pick- #1 has too much dark wood on the interior and is overdone for my liking.

The floor plan is better on number 2. Better layout overall. The kitchen is functional. You can add a cabinet in the laundry to use as a pantry. The bedrooms are also a little better for furniture arranging. Nice 1 story design with no wasted space.

Option 2, the first one looks too...backwoods? I'm more of a lake or ocean side kinda girl.

Absolutely love #2. The trim in contrast with the wood siding gives it a perfect mix of modern and rustic.
