Don't ignore the roof -- house paint needs to complement the color of the roof. Take a close look at the shingles to see what colors you can pull out.

Consider a darker garage door. Darker will help minimize the visual impact of the door. You want the focus to be on the entry door, not the garage.

Paint the trim just around the windows one color, and the verticals (like the 4 trim pieces extending above the 2 windows over the garage) body color.

I'd use multiple colors, trim, body and garage door, with the garage door color somewhere between the others. You might paint just the fascia a bolder color as a segue-way to the remaining colors.
