I think the white will look clean and sharp. And I agree that too much wood not only darkens the room but darkens the mood of a room. Good luck and congratulations.

Amy, yes, the white plantation shutters would look beautiful in your kitchen as well as throughout your home.

One word of caution when placing them over your sink area. Make sure there is room to open them after the kitchen faucet is chosen. We did a little facelift in our kitchen with new counters, sink and faucet. The shutter came way after and all I can say is thank goodness the decorative top of the faucet was removable because otherwise we would not have been able to open them for cleaning, etc. Same thing with our R/O ( water filtration system), the shutter just clears the top, otherwise that would have had to be replaced.

White shutters will really lighten things up. Also, the dark plantation shutters seem to always look dusty. It is a constant battle at my house.
