Looks like there is room for each of you to have an entire system on opposite walls. Just place one desk closer to the doors and the other closer to the windows so you don't bump your chairs when working. IKEA Expedite or Besta systems might work for you.

I recently purchased some of the Besta from IKEA and love it. I love Pottery Barn as well but would like to spend less.

While having each of you face the walls may be the best use of space for not running into each other, it is often very demotivating to stare at a wall while you work. It blocks the flow of energy. If you have any leanings toward investigating the feng shui or the energy of the room, it is also considered bad to have your back to the door. Hanging a mirror on the wall in front of your desk can help this, especially if you an see a nice view out the window when you glance in the mirror. I would suggest trying out the "facing a wall" scenario with your existing furniture before you commit dollars to a desk system that only works in that placement. Maybe it won't bother you but it does bother many people and it may subconsciously affect your productivity. It did to my husband and he is SO not about the whole feng shui thing. But he whole heartedly admitted that he felt so much better once his desk was facing out into the room.

My wife and I have separate offices. This has worked well for us, primarily because of work phone calls & the possible distraction of those calls. She purchased a wheeled, movable sit/stand desk that is great. Sometimes she wheels it out of her office into another room. I would recommend the stand, as it was inexpensive and works well. Certain careers may lend themselves better to separate offices or spaces, and this is particularly true for us....I know you said you want to be "together" but separate offices is one approach for some telecommuters.
