The spirit of the Houzz community is sharing ideas and information.

The designer is not interested in sharing information regarding products used, etc. Specifically, they are not answering questions regarding the vanity. I find that contrary to the spirit of the Houzz community. They should be banned from posting photos if they are simply looking to advertise services.

I'm sorry, but design professionals make a living based on their knowledge of their regional design market and the resources of their vendors/trades. Real design professionals don't typically give out product information because it is confidential information that reflects their private clients budget's and lifestyles. Regardless, most of the products used by trade professionals are not priced online or available for sale directly to the retail market. So even if we did share the information, there would not be anywhere available for another person to order. Not to mention that the idea of "product placement" is completely against a true designers integrity. Design, interior/exterior or commercial/residential, is about a fluid experience of inspired original ideas, and a good interior is really a refection of the architecture that shaped the space. To say that any one "product" in this or any other photo on Houzz is a good fit for another home, based on a photo from an entirely unique residence, is completely degrading to our entire design industry. Thank you for reviewing our work, and if you are ever interested in doing more than online shopping your interior, please do give us a call. - SYD
