It's a little confusing, but this is a shot of a patio. The plant is Wooly Thyme (Thymus pseudolanuginosus). You can plant this as small plugs and then keep lightly watered. In our experience it has worked best in sandy soils that have been amended with light organic material. We usually don't see much growth the first year, but years two and three really take off.
