Where would you put a cable box or DVD player and avoid all the cords?

I've been thinking of a focal point wall similar to this but can't figure out where I'd put the cable box and DVD player without having a bunch of power cords and connecting cords showing. I need to be able to point my TV controller at my cable box. Beautiful wall!

    In this particular case, all the components are in the wall unit to the left of the couch and all the wires run through the wall to get there. We have also done similar projects where we put a very low cabinet underneath to house the components and set the front speaker on.
