Variety is the spice of life. I have a collection of handmade stoneware and porcelain mugs. I like a little coffee in my cream and vary the flavored creamers and coffees. I also love tea with honey NOT milk. As a potter I am picky about the feel of a cup and the fit of the handle. Always prefer drinking from real ceramics or glass not styrofoam or plastic.

Have 2 that are my current faves; this one hold a double shot latte. It means relaxed morning and the day off from paid work. DW prefers it in a drawer rather than open shelf, thus our lower cabinets have drawer heights tailored to this one and others similar to it. Now off to work on the kitchen.

Here are mine. They are clear glass from Libbey and made in the USA. Coffee or tea, my fav, taste great in them since they hold no previous taste from other beverages. The smaller ones in the front are for my grandsons when they want a sip or two of tea.

Hubby and I used to give each other cat motif mugs. Eventually, they just didn't fit with the cabinets or our lifestyle. Now I have identica ones to unwantedadvice and they are great, if not inspired. Just spotted some interesting mugs at my local coffee store, maybe...

They are all my favorite. i only have 1 cup of coffee per day so the bigger, the better!

Coffee mugs started in our family as a gift to my fiancé following boston business trip. All black, with metallic gold skyline "Boston at night". The "gold" became more MW compatible over the years. For those who decry "collections", it's really abt "the hunt" and the memories. So, after 25 years, we have only 20 as described, but added his collection of Wactersbach mugs, not only Christmas ones, but other colors for the seasons and just fun. MW proof are from Spain, not the original factory. One in front is freak Lloyd wright b/c we love his style, too. Years ago they were on display in PB postal box in kitchen. Now we keep 5 of each in kitchen cupboard for use. The others are stored in easy to grab clear plastic bins in laundry room, off the kitchen. I change them by the season. I thank daughter who recommends clear plastic bins for all storage! Cardboard is only good for mice and mildew! Other daughter asked if I had any 20 extra mugs for a VA hospital project last Christmas. I tested each in the MW and gave them to her.

Cup and saucer for me!

My favorite mug is this one I painted 12 years ago when I treated my bridesmaids to a paint-your-own-pottery party. I used it for a while and then it got a tiny chip so now I just keep it to look at. My cupboard is full of Winnie the Pooh and Eeyore mugs - my mother sends me a different pair every year for Christmas. I love having an eclectic collection and sharing them when we have guests. As for my coffee - I like it with creme brulee flavored creamer. I once spilled a mug on my calculator at work. After letting it drain and air-dry for a few days, an engineer took it apart to see if he could repair it. He brought it back to me a few hours later, functioning again, and asked as he dropped it off, "do you like a lot of cream and sugar in your coffee?" He had to use q-tips to remove the thick syrupy creamer from the circuits. So embarrassing! lol

We use Bodum cups. They are large enough for the morning coffee:) We have other cups that get used sometimes. The clay ones we no longer use because the coffee tends to have a funny taste in them. Coffee anyone?:)

The mug I use has to have a handle that will accommodate all my fingers and long enough to brace my hand against so it doesn't touch the hot cup. The one on the left is my favorite - just the right size for the automatic setting on my microwave and with a slight curved lip, but the others work well, too. Most of the mugs I have on display are cobalt - my accent color. Also a stoneware-type glaze on the inside helps disguise the coffee stains, as I use mine many times between dish washing.

Here is a cup I made, and someone gave me a offer that I simply could not Refuse So I've made a couple more Since, and In them completely!

Recently re-did our kitchen with all open shelving to show off our cup collection.

My cup was a new house present from my husband when we bought our first house. I use it every day, and I think of him with every cup of coffee or tea.

Below is my mugs' cupboard - my coffee mug is the huge green one in the corner. I only have one coffee a day, in the morning, and it's always in that mug filled up to the brim!
Hubby tends to grab the Casablanca one, but normally he drinks tea from the white ones.

This is my coffee mug wish list!! I have begun a small collection of my own from various countries I've travelled to and some have been given as gifts from friends abroad as far as Ohio Mexico and Bali.

First of all I love orange. Second I really like the look of this TAZO tea mug. But the pleasant surprise was the ergo-dynamic design! The top volute is a thumb rest and the lower one allows you to hook your ring finger. Bonus points because the white interior helps you see when your tea is just right!

My fav mug is one I just picked up in Galena, IL while there with some girlfriends. I took some Shakespeare classes in high school and college and this one tickled my literary funny bone!

Having coffee right now. My husband and I have mugs that match our dishes, and those we use for guests. Ever since we've been together, we've had a tradition of having a signature mug, something funny, that we use daily. My husband had one that belonged to his dad, then one my parents bought for him. When mugs get cracked we save them for sentimental reasons, then find just the right replacement. I used to have an awesome one I bought at the Marie Laveau gift shop in New Orleans. When it chipped, I picked up this beauty. I love unicorns and rainbows, but I'm not a morning person or feeling very "unicorns and rainbows" first thing in the morning. Hence my mug. It always makes me giggle.

My top three favorite mugs all from different National Parks. My dad had started this collection and I thought it was a cool idea to have these as a memento of parks that we've been to and I certainly hope to carry on that tradition into the future. These mugs are from Lassen (I just love the simple ness of the blue-on-white design), Joshua Tree (always love the stoneware), and Yosemite (it just feels earthly and warm with the colors).

One of two faves, mostly for their perfect shape and weight. South Louisiana native, now in Ohio, I take my coffee rich and dark with a bit of cream, preferably on the porch:)

It depends if it's a coffee or tea sort of day. The small T.S. Post mug on the left fits perfectly under the nozzle on my Nespresso and the colors and design make me smile. The tall Luna Garcia mug on the right is my favorite color and perfect for a last-a-long-time cup of tea. Luna Garcia is made a short walk from my home in Venice Beach, they just called to let me know my new order of coffee mugs is ready, a cream white mug with a palm tree drawn by one of the owners. Can't wait to pick them up!

Handmade is the only way to go. It's hard to chose, but I always find my morning coffee in this Ant Skull/ Day of the Dead mug by Aaron Calvert.

My husband's Sacred Vessel was bought at Boscov's. It's chipped now and I have never found another, though I have tried with a half dozen different green mugs. The replacement has to be 14 oz, fluted slightly, and with a large enough handle for his extra-wide hands. Would love it if someone could replicate it.

Everyone's mugs are so unique! My go to mug has my former employer's logo on it. I know....sounds boring, but it's actually a heavy & extra big mug and I got a set of four so I never run out.

My family collect the Starbucks mugs from wherever we go - they're lovely mugs & bring back wonderful memories. My favourite is my huge Berlin mug, with little raised landmarks - it holds so much tea!

I'm mainly a tea drinker too. My favorite mug isn't attractive, funny, or memorable - it's practical. It's a double walled, stainless steel job bought at LL Bean YEARS ago, and it keeps my tea hot longer then any other mug I own!

I have 3 favorite mugs: first and second are my West Point mugs. My grandson attended West Point and my husband and I attended lots of football games, other events, and his graduation! I have such fond memories. The third is my US Air Force mug, given to me by my son in law who is a veteran of the Army Corp of Engineers ( he is a retired Major). I am a retired US Air Force Captain (nurse).
