My fiance and I are preparing to close on our first home. On the main level of the house, connecting the garage and the kitchen is a sunroom/mudroom. Room has multiple electric outlets and the walls are insulated, new windows would make it a viable 4 season room. the only problem is we don't know what to do with the space. Current owner uses it as a junk room, there has to be more potential.

The room measures 8.75 ft wide by 14.6 ft long. Could we turn this into an office? A sitting room? just update it to a better looking mud room/coat closet? We have up to $5,000 available to do improvements to this room in the short term, but I only want to do the improvements if they have a purpose! Ideas greatly appreciated.
