Although I'm currently trying to wind up an upstairs bedroom/dressing area/ and shower renovation, I don't think I'd be here if it weren't for all the help I received here on Houzz in the past 12 months:

First I received a terrific lead on finding the fabric I had chosen for our family room loveseats, which suddenly had disappeared from the web.. . . Next it was the product name of a cocktail table I had seen at Plummer's, which refused to identify the manufacturer so I could look for a better price. (Finally did buy it at Plummer's, but another of their stores, which put it on sale while our local store was insisting it would NEVER go on sale!) . . . After that, it was input on both the new rattan dining set I was considering . . . as well as the lighting fixture, which confirmed that the one I had in mind would work.

Although I appreciated all the help, I don't think I ever did express my thanks formally, which is the purpose of this post. Also am including a couple of photos of how things turned out.

I also should mention that in general, my dilemma was how to re-work the entire area, which was both long and narrow (approximately 12' w by 30' long, and divided into 3 clearly defined sections (i.e., kitchen, family room and dining.)

Because the space is so confined, it may be helpful if I also point out that some items already were in place and for various reasons it did not make sense to remove or change them.

e.g., Starting point included the following permanent features: 12' saltillo tiles (throughout the entire lower floor, except for bedrooms) . . . U-shaped kitchen with granite peninsula (gas cooktop and breakfast bar) and large casement windows over sink; . . . Mirrored wall opposite fireplace in family room, plus professionally stenciled "vine" up one side and over the arch separating this space from dining area . . . And 8' French doors opposite large casement windows . . . plus open beams in the dining room (and door leading into garage) into the garage.

Can't find the photo of the kitchen area on my computer, but attached I think are the family and dining areas. I'm not sure how Image 2 ("dining TAble Set .jpg) got in there, but could not figure out how to delete it.
