Not sure which rug to choose.

I'm trying to keep everything in our house bright and white. Are both of these too warm if I am trying to stay bright? If not, which one would you choose? (I was thinking about doing the white chairs or should I stay with something similar to what I have now - the one in the pic is from our kitchen table).

Nice! I like the white chairs. And I'm personally drawn to the zigzag patterned rug, but if you're going for light, white, bright I think the other one would be probably a good choice. Be careful that it doesn't get boring though. What kind of light do you have over your table?

I prefer the left rug! I think the zigzag one is distracting and goes against the vein in your table, which is beautiful by the way. I like your idea of switching to white chairs to lighten up your space even more. Lovely! As much as I like the zigzag one, I feel that the other one will be a better choice for you, keeping in mind the look you're going for. And I would suggest that the next thing you do is look for more meaningful art on your walls.

I agree about the zigzag one being too much of a contrast with the grain on the table; but I do like the contrast if offers. I think the design of that chair is too French Provincial for your table, which is a bit more rustic for those chairs.

I think either rug would work. Go with your gut. But I like your kitchen chair better than the all-white one. While white is beautiful, it's possible to have too much of a good thing.

And I agree with carolins about finding more meaningful art.
