Hi again Hollibee - you can start your paint search with these paint colours - but please be aware - paint is the very last thing I choose. I live with all the samples in my design studio for weeks, tweaking them until they are perfectly suited to the natural light coming into the space and perfectly blending in with the materials chosen. You need to decipher what paint tones are best for your materials chosen, because simply painting what I have here will not create the same result!

Thank you- I will surely take some time to look at these. I did have some feedback a while back from you re: kitchen and sitting area. Funny, I resisted the wood tones of the cabinets for a lighter counter and... wood cabinets and lighter cabinet!! We are at the drywall stage and priming is occuring right now. I have a semi open concept home and I like the colours to flow from one room to the next.

Another question about paint, if I may... Due to a plumbing issue, we had to lower our powder room ceiling. The room is 6x5 with a 7'6 ceiling. It feels like a box. Any suggestions for paint- dark ceiling? dark walls- I think the hallway outside the room will be fairly light.

When i have better photos, I will post to confirm my colour choices and ideas for window treatments. Basically- dark charcoal floor, taupe-greyish tone to hickory cabinets, lighter grey counter, cream subway tile to pull cream in counter, silvery grey paint for kitchen and sitting area, that will flow to hall towards bath and mudroom that are just outside the main space. Sandy coloured legerstone for horizontal fireplace.

I am also looking for some interesting cream subway tile- maybe something a little more irregular in finish. I have not seen any Anne Sacks tile in Canada. Any ideas?

What I'd do with your powder room is continue your wall colour right up onto the ceiling - make it feel taller, lighter brighter, you could even do a faux crown or faux cove ceiling treatment, starting it at about 7', and wrap white right around and up onto the ceiling for about 8 to 12 " onto the ceiling then change paint colour.....it will be a trick of the eye...

Thats interesting. So say grey to 7', then a white 12" band around the border on the ceiling, ceiling space that is left is grey as well. I can try it and see. Thanks so much. H
