I did not know you have the option to delete it when posted for a short period of time. But for longer period, I asked Houzz support if we can delete it ourselves. They said no, we have to ask them by giving them the link to the discussion then they will decide if they want to delete it or not. They told me it is because they don't want us to delete our own dilemma once we get our answers. They say the dilemma can be still helpful for others. However, if you have a duplicate dilemma, I am pretty sure they will be ok to delete one.

If you go right at the bottom of this screen, you see 3 columns, under the 'COMPANY' column, you will see 'Contact us', click on this one. If it is to delete THIS comment, take note of your link above.

It is unfortunate as people continue to provide helpful suggestions to a post/discussion you've started. BUT I get tired of Thanking after like 50 replies :-) it would be nice to end it. Meanwhile, I will add a comment saying I'm done with the post/discussion and will no longer make replies.

One suggestion is for Houzz to allow the user to set the comment limit say 20, 30 etc and then archive/stop. Seems a fair compromise to both help others with similar questions (per Houzz) and help the user manage the post.

I tried to edit a post when the time said "2 hours" & it wouldn't allow me to change anything...would like to know the time frame too...seems to give u more time to edit or delete a comment versus an original post...

A common solution on other sites is to allow a post to be archived or closed. That way it will remain visible for others with similar dilemmas, but no one will waste time offering input on a finished project.
