We are working on the exterior of our project house and are considering adding an unenclosed/uncovered deck/porch to the side entryway, which is close to the driveway and will get lots of use. We are considering putting a pergola for the cover, but that is not set in stone. We do have some flexibility as far as the size of this deck/porch, but want to be sure that the proportions are pleasing. Anything would look better than the concrete steps that are there already. The shrubs will obviously be removed.
In the one image below, the planters seem like a nice touch. We are open to any other suggestions.
