mmm, I don't think I would paint them or change out the granite. I would think about new stools and more modern light fixture to update it….but it's very nice. how does it fit with the rest of the house?

You might have white kitchenitis - that hankering after the pretty white kitchen you see in all the Houzz photos and design shows:) This really is a very lovely kitchen.

Should you decide to go through with the paint and new counters - it is hard to remove granite without something breaking. However, someone might be interested if they can re-fabricate it for bathrooms - not sure if that is possible. You can try craigslist - same with the doors but if you don't get any offers, the Restore Habitat for Humanity stores will take them as a donation.

I would try some simple changes first before an all out kitchen redo. Try stem lights over the island. You might just change the pulls and handles on the cabinets. You can also paint the island cabinets a different color to give a nice contrast to the lovely wood floors. I can't see the backsplash but maybe a change or added detail like a glass tile for a pop of color

Thank you! This is such a difficult decision! So I have already switched out the light fixture with the Restoration Hardware orb and the stools with more modern ones. The picture I posted was from the brochure when we bought the home. Those have been switched for two years now and I am still thinking about the white kitchen everyday. I definitely have white kitchenitis from Pinterest. We've been in the home for four years now and I think about wanting a white kitchen daily. It's so superficial but I think they are just so beautiful! Thanks for your input!

You have a beautiful kitchen. I fee ur pain though I also have natural cherry and being that I spend way too much time looking at houzz etc I sometimes want smething different. Natural wood is timeless. Matching surrounding rooms and style is house is much more important. Sounds like u added personal touches already. Maybe do a collection of ceramics or baskets on top of cabinets. Keep it clean; fewer larger items would be pretty. Or a geometric rug or pretty kilim. Good luck;)

I think your kitchen beautiful! I want cherry cabs! You can do more small things to change the look of space-hardware, backsplash tile, even paint! I understand when looking at all the beautiful pics on the web how you might want a change. Your budget may play a part in how much you do. I like the idea of changing the island only...maybe a good place to start. It's seems quite popular to have a different colored island vs the rest of the kitchen. If you did that, you may not want to go stark white but a vanilla or a white that has a glaze to tone it down to match the style of the rest of the kitchen.

Leave the cabinets. Switch out the granite for something not busy, like white quartz.
