same kitchen as previous photo. House built in 1905. While there are specific characteristics of the island I am not crazy about, I like the island's use of the space and it is similar to what I hope ours can be like. I like the brick backsplash and the seating area with a built in bench.

I also like the use of subtle color (I like the color, too!) in the island against the backdrop of off white counters and cabinets.The upper and perimeter cabinets are painted Sherwin Williams Wool Skein and the island is painted Sherwin Williams Chatroom. Both are finished with a glazing.
love this cane/rattan insert on cupboard door (or is it painted screen??)! Great texture, also love the combination of the cupboards, desk, drawers, bench area for shoes… Interesting ideas for inside wall storage!

love it. Doored cubbies for each kid for backpack, one jacket, etc., pull out drawers for shoes, etc., One ittle seat. throw in a small desk area and it's perfect! Cost may be prohibitive, tho.
