Shawn is an absolute delight to work with! She brought new ideas and creative solutions to our cabinet designs. She not only made our cabinet spaces more functional than I could ever have imagined, they are also so beautiful! Her attention to detail is impressive and resulted in no wasted space and details that make each of the rooms look custom and meticulously planned. In addition to designing beautiful custom cabinets, she found ways to improve our overall interior plans by utilizing wasted space for an extra closet and builtin shelves, and thinking through proper door placement. Shawn provided an above-and-beyond service that makes our house feel truly custom and one of a kind.

Shawn designed our kitchen, my husband’s built-in office, a full room/wall to wall custom wardrobe for me (with lighted hanging rods & shoe racks!), and a custom built-in make-up/hair piece in our primary bedroom. She is amazing! She spent a lot of time with us making sure that she understood our individual needs and made brilliant suggestions! Shawn delivered the finished plans to our GC before projected dates. The few changes we needed were completed very quickly. Creative designer who really knows her way around a kitchen! From her client questionnaire to detailed drawings, no detail is left unaddressed. A great listener who understood our wants and needs. Kitchen turned out very beautiful and functional. She worked great with our contractor and subs. The cabinet builders loved her detailed plans. Shawn was fantastic! We had a very tricky Kitchen, Laundry and Mud room remodel and she was able to draw various versions for us to consider, while highlighting the importance of certain areas and specific things we definitely needed to consider while planning out the new space. She worked with me on all of the very custom and specific details I wanted to incorporate, which resulted in a very well planned, thought out work space in the kitchen, improving the overall flow, and specific cabinet details that were functional and aesthetically beautiful. I highly recommend Shawn for your kitchen and house renovations! She took a 1956 ranch house and reconfigured it into a modern farmhouse look. The kitchen is amazing! A dream kitchen with elements I hadn’t even thought about… There’s an appliance garage for large kitchen appliances plus a special little hideaway cabinet for coffee maker and toaster oven that’s easy to use… The design is so beautiful and so original. She thinks of all the details. In addition, she is responsive and available. We had to make several renditions because of the city permits and she always responded quickly knowing the urgency of my project. She has such a great eye for design and is the utmost professional. She also recommended the contractor and designers and I trust all her recommendations.

My project is so much more than a home improvement - it is a transformation. I could not imagine the change was possible when we first started. My kitchen is the same size as before yet looks much bigger. I have more usable prep and storage space and it is bright and cheerful - truly incredible. The master bath/closet area is totally changed. It is expansive, laid out practically, and looks beautiful. The key, in my mind, was great listening. Shawn carefully listened to what really mattered to me and came back with thoughtful suggestions that we fine-tuned into the final design. She had excellent suggestions for others who could assist on the way. I love living in my new spaces, and am so very grateful I was able to work with Architecturally Inspired Kitchens.

In reading the other reviews, I realized that there’s not much I can really add. Would I recommend Architecturally Inspired Kitchens to anyone looking for a quality, professional experience with the added bonus of working with a totally delightful person? Yes! Shawn Rexroat is simply perfect to work with and we love our new kitchen, butler’s pantry and laundry room.

We found Shawn, Architecturally Inspired Kitchens on Houzz. After reading her reviews, we knew she was perfect and we waited several months till she was available! We were not disappointed! Shawn’s knowledge and attention to detail has left us with an amazing kitchen. We sometimes find ourselves walking around in awe! We have been in our home for over 35years and had updated everything but the kitchen and dinning room. Our house was perfect for when our sons were growing up, however with the additions to their families, our cramped kitchen was too small and outdated for us to cook together nor were we able to fit in the dinning room to share meals. It was really important to us to have a kitchen with zones and a large eating space that could accommodate up to about 20 people. After waiting over 30 years for a new kitchen, we had plenty of time to add to a long extensive wish list. Shawn drew up a few plans and we were able to choose one and add features from the others. She created a space for large gatherings, while taking into account, it needed to be comfortable for my husband and I. She knew the outdoors were important to us, hence the addition of two very large windows. Another great feature that isn’t captured in the photos is the wall to wall window/doors in the breakfast room that can open to the porch and provide great views into our lovely backyard. Shawn took into account our quirky habits and provided seating at the huge peninsula with views of our bird feeder where we can enjoy our morning coffee once our counter stools arrive. Shawn listened to us and created an amazing beautiful kitchen that we’ll be able to share with our family for years to come. Her professionalism, attention to detail and easy manner, make her great at what she does! I highly recommend her. I’m definitely not a photographer but I tried to attach photos that would provide a small view into an amazing new kitchen.

Shawn did an incredible job of designing a new kitchen/laundry room for my husband and I. We were so impressed by her professionalism, vision and attention to detail. We love to cook and entertain, and Shawn clearly put thought into designing a beautiful functional kitchen that fits our lifestyle. She was approachable and responsive throughout the entire process, and introduced us to a contractor and cabinetmaker with whom she has worked extensively. She has extremely high standards and came back out on completion of the project to ensure that everything was built to her specifications. My husband and I were looking for someone to help us design our kitchen, breakfast area and master bathroom and closet as part of a major home renovation. We were introduced to Shawn Rexroat to assist us. She did not disappoint. In fact, she totally and completely exceeded our expectations! What I liked most about Shawn was her ability to listen to what we wanted and to translate that into an end product. She offered current and cutting edge design ideas that were unlike anything I had previously seen. In addition to the obvious things, she focused our attention on the smallest of details which had a huge impact. Her design drawings were spot-on and easy to follow by our contractors.
