Blue Diamond might be a good remodeling company however under no circumstances use their cabinetry division. We used their cabinetry people for a kitchen remodel. They were so nice upfront and then it fell apart. They cut corners and shoddy work throughout. The countertop people that work under Blue Diamond are ok but you best review all measurements prior to installing. At the end of the job, the manager never came out to do a final walk through. Very unprofessional.

I work with many builders and know expertise and professionalism when I see it. Blue Diamond takes the headache out of the design + construction process for their clients, through their far-reaching experience, excellent tradesmen, utmost professionalism, and thorough responsiveness.

We hired Blue Diamond for a major interior remodel. Their project managers were extremely inattentive, frequently not supervising the work and not giving instructions to subs, and their workers and subs did poor quality work. When we were dissatisfied with the quality, instead of repairing the shoddy installations under warranty they offered us a discount in exchange for signing a settlement agreement which would relinquish our rights to posting negative reviews online. They appeared to have this agreement readily available as a form-letter as it was quickly sent to us when we started sending complaints. You may wish to consider that fact when looking at the total negative and positive reviews you can find on this company.

I provided plans for a 600+ square foot addition with a new master bedroom / bathroom for a 1930's house and Richard / Blue Diamond were very attentive during the bidding process and clearly defined expected costs. During construction they were in constant communication with me and did a great job with details for the finish work. The owner and project manager were both very responsive during the project and it came out great.

my dad and I worked with Richard to remodel my home a year ago. it was great to have his experience and perspective. He truly felt like a partner in the project, not a vendor. Blue Diamond took on a huge project on our small house. We called it the a great House Fixing. Our 924 sq ft 3 bedroom 1 bath house was built in 1958. And it had never been updated. With prices in Austin rising, we were able to refinance and finally fix ‘er up! After years of neglect by the previous owners, it needed basically everything. Starting with new sewer lines (ours were ancient and thoroughly blocked by roots), new water lines, all the old galvanized plumbing inside was junked up and needed to be replaced. All the ungrounded unsafe electrical needed to be replaced, the roof needed replacement, the old carpet had to go, we needed insulation in the walls and ceiling, we needed new HVAC and water heater, a working vent for the stove, new Coretec Plus vinyl plank floors to replace the ugly ancient shag carpet. All this meant we also needed new counters and backsplash, and sinks and toilet. We left the fifties bathroom intact, since it still was basically in good shape. We didn’t have funds for any structural changes, such as an open kitchen or adding a bath. We just wanted our house brought up to code and livable. After consulting with a number of contractors, most of which were Into house flipping and wanting to just ignore or bypass the code things and do a bunch of cosmetic work, we chose the good ones, Blue Diamond. And we were very glad we did. In just over two months, their in house plumbing, mechanical and electrical crews disassembled and reassembled our house, just about down to just the bricks, beams and walls, including having to widen the sewer trench through the limestone. The crews worked together well, and were able to accommodate us staying on site in a trailer, with our cats in a separate utility room. They were very accommodating of the critters and there were no escapes. Any hiccups along the way were promptly addressed by Max and his team. Shout outs to Zach the plumber, Hayk the electrician, David the carpenter who had his work cut out for him and did an amazing job, and all the other fine people who made our retirement home into our dream house. The team also worked well with our outside contractors. To save a bit, we had Window World do the windows and a friend did the interior painting. This caused no problems. Everything was done in tandem with the Austin City Code inspectors, so we will have no unpleasant surprises in the future. These are not the cheapest contractors, but they do quality work and are courteous and fun to work with. We now have a beautiful house we can be proud of and finally, everything works and looks lovely, too! We were so pleased that we picked a place in the hall and had everyone sign their work. Craftsmen are not appreciated enough these days, and we are very proud to have your names in our house. My husband adds: “I commend them for their flexibility in accommodating our requests, especially in regards to our cats. Their scheduling work to minimize stress on the cats was much appreciated. Also, they were quick to respond to questions. Their workers were always willing to explain what was happening. Any problems that came up were addressed without delay.” Thank you so much, Blue Diamond. The Great House Fixing was a huge success!

Blue Diamond helped us with some interior work (new kitchen back splash, pendant lights and ceiling fans), convert our garage into a living room, office and mudroom and build a new utility room and carport. There were hiccups throughout, but ownership/management was responsive to feedback and resolved issues to ensure the finished project was in line with the contract and our standards. We are very happy with the end result. Pros: professional, timely communication, knowledgeable management, friendly staff/subcontractors, came in on budget. Cons: project took 3x longer than quoted, lackluster project management.

We selected Blue Diamond Remodeling (BDR) from three competitive bids. BDR were excellent at doing the scope of work that we needed done. We had prepared a 13 page detailed scope of work document that listed everything that we wanted done as part of the Bid Package. BDR were responsible for demolition of the existing kitchen, internal walls, old electrical and old plumbing, flooring and kitchen ceiling. They installed 4 new beams where we opened up walls to make a more modern open architecture house inside. Their Structural/framing subcontractor was exceedingly great and experienced. Once the walls were opened up BDR installed a new sub-electrical power panel to power all of the appliances per City of Austin Codes. We moved the location of the sink some 10 feet so BDR's plumbing sub had to open up the slab and route the hot & cold water and drain lines under the slab to the new location. Their electrician also installed new LED ceiling lights in the expanded kitchen. BDR supplied and installed all new floor tiles, backsplash and also refinished our existing hardwood flooring. They also insulated the open exterior walls and blew in new attic insulation ( this 1965 house barely had any). Overall, BDR gave us an excellent project manager who was here on site nearly every day. I strongly and whole-heartedly recommend BDR, we had an excellent experience. We got our own cabinets and countertops ourselves, and our supplier caused multiple delays, not in BDR's scope of responsibility, but BDR still got their scope done regardless of my scope. The whole project was done under the City of Austin Inspections and permitting process.

Most excellent! Blue Diamond's ability to work with us with all our idiosyncrasies and inexperience was very welcomed. Their transparency with costs, scheduling, sub-contractors, city inspections, and permits, gave us a huge amount of confidence. Their ability to incorporate our changes was relatively seamless. Also, their focus on communicating via email, text, or phone calls, kept us current on the issues that occurred during our remodel. All in all, they were excellent and are working on other projects with our family.

We contracted with Blue Diamond for our kitchen remodel, and could not be any more pleased with the process or the finished project. From initial planning meetings through the final walk through, the Blue Diamond team and our project manager Maxwell did a fantastic job of coordinating and communicating all the various pieces of this rather large (for us) project. Completed on time and on budget - wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others or to hire again for another project.

We just finished up our first project collaborating with Blue Diamond on a kitchen remodel. Both the client and I were extremely pleased by the attention to detail throughout the project, especially in the cabinetry fabrication. The project was on time and budget, which seems to be a rarity in this field! We would highly recommend Blue Diamond.
