We renovated our home with Greenberg Construction in 2017. In 2026 we are building with them again — this time a full custom home in Los Altos Hills. That is the short version of this review: we went through an entire project with Maor, and when it came time to do something considerably more ambitious, we did not seriously look elsewhere. What made us choose him the first time: He is methodical. He listened to our ideas and actually brought them to life, rather than steering us toward whatever was simplest for him to build. He also gave us his own opinions when he had them — clearly, and without pressure — so that we could make the decisions ourselves. That balance between listening and advising is rarer than it should be. His quote was itemized in detail. We knew exactly what we were paying for, and there were no surprises and no hidden costs over the course of the project. Anyone who has renovated a home knows how unusual that sentence is. The timeline was laid out with the same care, and they finished on time. If you are weighing builders for a serious project in the South Bay, on the Peninsula, or in the East Bay, talk to Maor.

We’d been planning to renovate our 100yo house for 20 years, but with its corner location and tiny size, it was near impossible to get permitted by the City of Palo Alto. We went with Greenberg because they knew how to do modern houses and how to deal with the City. We went from horrible hideous uninsulated shack to a gorgeous gem where we can Age in Place! Every single person who has walked in says, “WOW! It’s beautiful! It’s incredible what you guys have done!” We have friends & professionals who have built/renovated many houses all exclaim what a high-end luxe job this was! We could not have done this without Greenberg. In particular, we worked with the wonderful Ohad Sherion throughout the process who managed all the subs, city departments involved, neighbors, vendors, etc. Our attention was elsewhere as we were very busy with our work, caring for our elders, so it was invaluable that Ohad kept us up-to-date throughout the process. Ohad was able to make our wishes come true, including bathrooms with custom tiles that were no longer available—so he found us an artisan who recreated them by hand. To make the small space look and feel spacious, we went with an open concept which left few walls to hang art. From the beginning, we worked with Ohad to create a design to showcase our art collection. Ohad is persistent and works to get projects not only functional but beautiful. For example, we have a unique front door which needed to be tweaked and he patiently worked with subs to make it happen. My husband was thrilled that we ended up with a house with superb insulation (including sound), up-to-date plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems. He feels great about the new roof and solar panels. But I am in love with the amazing personal details that make this place a home (finally). We are so grateful to Ohad. Just moved into my house and am just floored by the incredible work done by the team at Greenberg! I was originally skeptical of such a major remodel - every friend had horror stories of contactors doing sub par work, disappearing, completely, etc. I was really glad to work with Ohad, our project manager for the project. He'd worked with one of our friends previously, and so we knew he'd do a great job for our project. We also loved Greenberg's integrated approach. The architect, constructions, design and management was all done by Greenberg. This meant that the project from top to bottom was aligned with the team actually doing the construction work. My top priorities were 1) a modern home design 2) a job done with high quality 3) low stress. Ohad / Greenberg helped deliver on all of these aspects in spades. The last thing I wanted to do was have to coordinate with flaky contractors, have to re-do low quality work after a long day at work. Ohad kept the project on track and handled all the hassle of dealing with subcontractors & inspectors. Greenberg probably won't be the cheapest contractor you'll talk to, but as the saying goes - you get what you pay for. Quality work, up to code, and no drama is well worth the cost. Ohad worked with us throughout the project to consider different budget options, and gave candid advice about where he thought the budget would be best spent. Overall, highly recommend. I was referred by a friend and have put multiple friends in touch with Greenberg for their projects as well. Everyone is floored by house nice our remodel turned out and will 100% be in touch in the future for any future projects we have.

I chose Greenberg for my whole-home remodel because I wanted a true full-service design-build firm. From the initial site visit, Ohad immediately understood my vision and took care of the rest. One of the biggest highlights was the design process; their team curated high-quality material options based on my vision board, saving me from the overwhelming experience of wandering through numerous showrooms. When I visited the Greenberg showroom, the team presented their design with all my samples ready to view in-person. The logistical side was equally impressive. They handled the entire San Mateo permitting process. Once construction began, Ohad and I stayed in constant contact via text and phone to address any issues or decisions that needed to be made. He also kept me up to date with many photos of the construction. Everyone warned me that a project like this would take well over a year and go way over budget, but Greenberg completed construction in just 10 months and kept change orders to a minimum. I had such confidence in Ohad’s attention to detail that I didn’t even visit the site until the project was almost finished. The result is a total transformation that maximizes every square foot of my home without the need for a massive addition. My parents were so impressed they have already hired Greenberg for their own remodel.

I highly recommend Greenberg Construction for their professionalism, outstanding results, and excellent communication. My wife and I hired Greenberg to design and build a second story addition and kitchen renovation, and we’ve been delighted with the results. From the very start, our project manager listened to both of us, collaborated with us, and kept us informed every step of the way. The addition turned out great, and the kitchen renovation even exceeded our expectations. Not only did Greenberg deliver the look and layout we were looking for, but they also paid attention to fine details that I continue to appreciate. On top of all that, Greenberg has stood by their work. We’ve had only a couple of minor issues come up, and both times, Greenberg promptly returned to correct them. Full design, build project signed contract in Dec 2019, completed build in Apr 2024. Here's what we feel were done well: -Framing -Insulation -Tiling in the bathroom showers Everything else: -Piva windows -- which were suggested by Greenberg design. They're from Italy, and they suggested we get them because of the pano doors that are in our living room. Our master bedroom window doesn't fit in the framing, so there are visible gaps and wind comes through! So we put foam to fill the gaps just to keep the cold air from coming through in the winter. The master sliding door was supposed to come with a screen door, but that never arrived. One of the windows in the kitchen has a screen that pulls down from the top, it never properly opened well, and it's because during installation, they broke off a piece of the screen corner and they super glued it rather than replacing it. We've had to contact Piva ourselves because it was missing a bunch of connectors on the pano doors. -We have metal roof siding that wraps around the house. Again, this was part of their design, which looked great in the renderings. However, their actual execution was terrible. It's wavy and looks like cheap metal sheets were just slapped on. We voiced our concern and they said there were other options, so they'd fix it. They never did. -The hardwood floors! They're beautiful white oak flooring. Of course flooring gets installed pretty early on, and there's still a ton of work that happens after. They never covered the floors while the contractors were in and out daily. There are paint stains, scuffs, actual holes in the floor all over because they DIDN'T THINK TO COVER THEM?? We asked the PM to have the floors covered because everytime we went to check progress, the floors looked worse and worse. There are paint stains all over -- we told them this was a major issue and they said they'd come replace the floor boards. That never happened. -Plumbing. When plumbing was done, we mentioned there was a strong sewer smell coming from where the kids' bathroom would be. Ginadi said it's just because water wasn't being flushed. Then the bathroom was built and the sewer smell persisted.. It's now July 2025 and the sewer smell is still there. This house was supposed to be our dream house, it was built from the ground up. Our PM was at the site less than we were, he was never there so of course there was no oversight. There were some days that the contractors asked my husband what they should work on that day.. For the amount of time and money that was spent on this project, it's very disappointing. People ask us all the time if we'd build again or recommend our contractor. Zero chance.

We recently completed a room addition and had the pleasure of working with an exceptional Greenberg. Like many major renovation projects, we encountered a few unforeseen accidents along the way. We completed a multi-month project with Greenberg Construction and could not be happier with the results. Recently, we needed to complete what started as a relatively small request — changing out one of our French doors — turned out to be more complex than we initially anticipated. Finding an excellent contractor is not easy. So when my brother highly recommended Ohad and Greenberg Construction to fix up my home in preparation to put it on the market, I listened. And I'm glad I did! Ohad understood and followed threw on my objectives to fix and/or replace what was necessary in order make the house attractive, all the while keeping costs down. Ohad was also excellent as project lead and collaborator. I felt I was in good hands and in the end we produced a house ready for the highly competitive Palo Alto housing market!
