Ed and his crew transformed our dated basement hallway to the 2020's, they were within their projected cost estimation, and professional in every aspect - they listened well to our vision, they followed through and were meticulous in every finishing detail, they were respectful of our use of space when they finished each day, and went above and beyond to design and create a safe, removable stair rail to suit this dated basement for moving furniture in/out. As a team, they were a true delight, personable, respectful, insightful, and above all provided exceptional workmanship. We would highly recommend.

After having such a great experience with HQ Construction renovating our main floor last year, there was never any question who we would call when it came time to finish our basement. This is our 2nd large reno project with HQ Construction & Supplies. We redid the main bathroom, powder room and kitchen. Demolition was completed while we were away, I was pleasantly surprised to come home to working bathrooms and our kitchen was completed 2 weeks after we returned. We found HQ Construction & Supplies through Houzz. They were one of 5 contractors that we spoke to. We had a certain budget planned for the work we wanted completed and a tight timeline (work completed before Xmas). Work included, an overhaul of our second floor, a new Master Bathroom, hardwood floors, updated staircase, painting, lighting, etc. We had a visit to HQ Construction's showroom, where we were able to see the quality of their work, and reviewed 3D drawing proposals of the planned work along with pricing estimates. Once we gave HQ Construction the go ahead, they started right away. Ed, Chris and Nico were hardworking, professional, have great attention to detail. We are so pleased with their work we are looking to start work on our 1st floor in the new year with HQ Construction. I have also recommended them to several other people looking to do renovation work.

I had Ed from HQ Construction Supplies return for another job- entire condo had not been painted in 20 years. And then with very dark paint. Ed and his team brightened up the entire space! He also replaced two closet doors with two sets of bi-fold doors, since the closet door is made it a very tight space to get in and out of the closet. They fit great and work well. I'm hoping to redo the kitchen next summer and again, I will definitely be using HQ construction again. Anyone looking for a contractor that can do pretty much anything, I still highly recommend Ed and HQ Construction Supplies.

Bathroom Update, Marble Shower Repair & Stonework Restoration We recently hired HQ Construction to paint and refresh our guest ensuite bathroom and install a new vanity with sink and quartz countertop. The results are fantastic, and the ensuite looks bright and updated. Ed and his team were also able to diagnose and repair a hidden leak in our marble shower, which had been challenging to identify. Their expertise and attention to detail really stood out. We are also very happy with the stonework repairs at the front of our home. The stonework around the flower garden, and the front steps and entrance were all restored beautifully. The team’s workmanship was exceptional, and the repaired areas blend seamlessly with the original design, enhancing our home’s curb appeal. The crew was professional, punctual, and respectful, keeping us updated and leaving the space clean at the end of each day. We recently hired HQ Construction to renovate the main floor of our home, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. We had then back!! So grateful to have these wonderful men help us improve our home. This is the third big project they have done for us. Meticulous work, helpful ideas and very satisfactory outcome. We did two bathroom renos with Ed. As first time house owners, we had no experience undertaking a reno. After hearing nightmare stories of contractors, I was generally wary of taking on a reno project. From my very first call with Ed, I feel it really cared and I could trust him. He’s very detail oriented and thorough. This is our third project involving Ed and the team at HQ Construction. This was fairly straightforward - replacing damaged (pet stained) carpet in an upstairs suite in our bungaloft. The only complication was we had a lot of "stuff" in the living room and bedroom. We packed up all the small items in bins and moved them to a large bathroom. Then Ed and his two wonderful sons moved furniture from the living room to the bedroom and bathroom while he living room was re-carpeted. A large sofa and chair were left in the room and the installers were able to work around those items. Wen the living room was done, then the bedroom was tackled and before we knew it both rooms were complete - in less than one day! A day to prepare and a day for install - how great is that! You can count on Ed for personal attention to your issues and great supervision so the job is done to your satisfaction! I should add that prior to this, we had a problem with marks on our kitchen ceramic tile floor that Home Depot caused during a recent fridge delivery. Ed an his boys cleaned the floor and removed the marks when Home Depot and the delivery company didn't know what to do. They are great problem-solvers! Obviously we highly recommend HQ Construction for quality service at a reasonable price!

We have been in our current home for over 20 years now. The house was very dated when we first moved in. Needless to say, we have had many upgrades and remodels during this time. We’ve had some really good experiences and some absolute nightmarish ones. These projects have put us in the “what you should expect from your contractor” experts’ category. Finding HQ Construction on Houzz with their many high praise reviews, we had Ed come over to consult on our latest project. The main upgrade was the den and surrounding entrances. We had an old brick (eyesore) fireplace that needed to be remodeled as well as resurfacing 2 interior entranceways, replacing 2 interior doors and 1 garage door, a new floor and closet doors in our front entrance, painting with new baseboards throughout and 2 new master bedroom closet doors. On the first day, Chris and Nikko came up to me introducing themselves and shook my hand (a good sign of things to come). Every morning, they would put out the tarps to protect our floors in the areas they were working. Every evening as they left, they would pick up the tarps and put everything back where they found it. They tried very hard to respect our home and mitigate dust as much as possible. Of course we were in the middle of a heat wave, so closing the vents and switching off the A/C was not an option. Everything from furniture to open areas to another room were covered or sealed with plastic. Since there were many small projects all over the house, there was construction everywhere except the kitchen and basement. They never assumed anything always asking what our preferences were for details such as the types of baseboards, where to place the door pulls on the closest, etc. They would offer their advice and always made sure we completely understood what was happening. A little over three weeks of having our house taken over by construction could have been very stressful. Ed made sure the suppliers kept to their shipping schedules so our project would be done on time. Chris and Nikko both displayed their skills of the trade. Always an attention to detail and you could see the pride they felt that came with the final outcome of creating a quality new living environment for their clients. We cannot stress enough that HQ Construction is a top tear quality company and highly recommend them. It is comforting to know we have a company to call for our next project.

I found HQ Construction & Supplies on Houzz because of the reviews and I'm glad I did. This was our first big renovation so we didn't know exactly what to do. We knew we wanted at least one wall down to open the kitchen to the family room but didn't know how we were going to do it. Ed was fantastic. He walked us through the process and gave us options. He's always ready to answer any questions you might have and we had a lot. It was also great that he had some pictures on hand to show some of the options he would suggest. Ed and his team did a complete rehaul of my former student-house kitchen from 1959. The results were spectacular, and beyond my expectations of what I thought could be done with this space. In additon to the quality of the work, I particularly appreciated the thoroughness of the design process. I was presented with many different options and was able to modify said options based on my own particular needs and preferences. This gave me confidence in the design decisions, as there was very little uncertainty as to what the finished product would look like. I appreciated Ed and the team's expertise and thoroughness. They were able to identify and correct hidden issues with the kitchen which became apparent when the walls/floor were opened up. This was a big project with some unforeseen complications, but it was still completed on time and according to the original design. Building through COVID was mostly a nightmare except for the cabinet instal! I would highly recommend! And there was one minor issue that was resolved quickly. After the kitchen we moved on to designing a custom pantry and closet for the front foyer. Once again, it turned out exactly as I had incisiones! We had the greatest experience with HQ Construction. Ed and his team have exceed our expectations not just on delivering us a well functional basement kitchen but also they are outstanding in customer service and managing our expectations. They guided us from start to finish. From design, materials to use, coordinating work schedules, subcontractors, and everything else in between and involved. I've gone through 7 contractors asking for a quote. All of them came back to me with either a piece of paper with a price of the job or a quote through facebook messenger. I was told that to get a formal quote we edd to make a downpayment or deposit. I think me and my husband are easily judged by our age. We're a young couple and contractors sometimes think we're just scouting and so we're only a waste of time. This is the difference we felt when we first met with Ed. He treated us with respect and always remind us that we are the owner of our own home. That we should take pride of what we put in it specially because it is a significant investment. Tile floor: grout cracked and make a terrible noise walking over floor that happened immediately and worsened over time, uneven, sharp edges with a porous finish that traps dirt. Kitchen Cabinets emit strange odour, poor install, uneven spacing, not real maple wood. Be very careful, get all DETAIL's in writing.

Over the past year, we've done two renovations with HQ Construction & Supplies, and I can't say enough good things about Ed and his team! For this review, I will focus on our most recent renovation of our kitchen. Right off the bat, Ed and Rowena were awesome at our consultation - patient, knowledgeable and full of great ideas! And using their design software we were able to get a really good sense of what our kitchen would look like in the end. During that planning phase, I had a LOT of questions and suggestions, and both Ed and Rowena responded quickly and in a very friendly manner to every single text and email! What I love about Ed is that he really listens to all my ideas (even the unconventional ones) and if they are possible, he makes them happen. He has an open mind and truly respects what his customers want. The work was completed on time (in just three weeks!) for a reasonable price, and all of the tradespeople who worked on the project were professional, pleasant and extremely skilled. The end result is truly the kitchen of our dreams and we are so very grateful! It was such a great experience that we are already pondering our next project with HQ Construction & Supplies, which we will likely tackle sometime in 2023!

We had a new backsplash put on by HQ Construction which included taking down the old, putting up new drywall and then the new tile. Ed and his team did an excellent job. The workmen were tidy, personable and professional. We are very pleased with the new look to our kitchen and will consider HQ Construction & Supplies for any future renovations.

My wife and I purchased our first home 21 years ago and we just recently decided it was time to upgrade our dated, builder grade kitchen. Ed and HQ Construction & Supplies Inc. was recommended to us by a family member who just used them for their kitchen reno. We were very impressed with their kitchen and viewed some more of his work here on houzz.com and we decided to make the call. Ed was extremely kind on the call and despite being approx. 60km from his showroom, he committed to make a visit to our place the very next day. Fast forward a few weeks later, Ed and his team put together 4 extremely detailed designs for us to view. Being our first major renovation it was amazing to see what Ed came up with and the possibilities we had to create our dream kitchen. The modeling software used was incredible and really gave us a clear vision of what our kitchen would look like once completed. We picked our favourite design and gave the job to Ed. Ed provided us a detailed timetable of what would take place and when. Now this is the part that I have to say exceeded our expectations. When Ed said the plumber or Electrician would be on site, they were there at the time he said. Cabinet guys will be there on Saturday at 9am, sure enough they were there at 9am. I can't tell you how important it was to us that the project stay on schedule, let's be honest any renovation is an inconvenience and you don't want it to go on any longer than it has to. I feel like Ed takes the scheduling aspect very seriously and was always communicating with us. Ed called us one day and advised there was a delay with the countertops. They were stuck in the port of Vancouver due to all the congestion issues. I work in the Freight Forwarding industry and I know very well the challenges in the market right now. Until the countertops arrived in Toronto, Ed provided continuous updates on the status, when it was on rail, what the ETA in Toronto was and when it actually delivered to the warehouse. I joked with Ed that I could probably get him a job as a freight forwarding operator as he clearly is good at it. Plain and simple, Ed is a reliable guy, you hear too many horror stories in this industry and with an investment of this size you just want to be able to trust someone. The finished product is everything we wished for, actually looks better than I could have ever imagined. I won't hesitate to use HQ construction for any future projects and I will not hesitate to recommend ED to my family and friends for the renovation needs.

Outstanding! Ed is a very professional contractor. His attention to detail is outstanding and he aims to please in all he does. Ed and his crew replaced 20-year carpets, installed new hardwood stairs, and designed and constructed a 5 piece ensuite bathroom. Several years ago, Ed remodeled our kitchen and we were so happy with it, I didn't think twice about hiring him again for my latest upgrades.

Doing any type of renos through Covid have been challenging to say the lease. We had sourced our kitchen cabinets at several locations and none could meet our timelines. Ed and his team from HQ construction did an excellent job on the remodel of our kitchen and 2 bathrooms. From start to finish, Ed was involved in every aspect of the project. He offered suggestions on how to utilize each space efficiently and provided 3D renderings of the design. During the project, Ed was on site often to check in with his team. Ed and his team did an excellent job redesigning our kitchen from the 60's to 2020. They made detailed changes to fit our needs and space until we were completely satisfied. He double checked every measurement on site. The cabinet and counter installs were on time and went very smoothly in spite of COVID. The installers did a great job. The final result is amazing.

Ed and his team were a pleasure to work with. We had a partial Reno planned of our kitchen and that did not deter their interest or attention to detail. The quote was fair and reasonable and within our budget. Ed was available on several occasions to consult and recommend plenty of options for Corian counters, sink, cabinet arrangement, and gables. Partial Renos can be challenging in terms of matching woodgrain, finish color and quality, Ed even left some matching paint so we could ensure the remaining bank was incorporated. My house was clean, all garbage removed, the team was pros and very friendly. Above and beyond, the team also repaired some original drawer inserts to ensure great function. Finally and very important, Ed spoke to me and my husband equally and clarified details, came in on time, each time on budget and cc'd us both on all information and texts. That kind of equal respect is very important to us. Thank you HQ, we are delighted.

We hired HQ construction and Supplies Inc to build a front porch on our house.... They're communication is amazing! You can contact Ed almost at anytime and reply is very quick.... He will also come to the house and speak in person.... There was a few hiccups with the front porch but Ed was on top of getting everything done properly.... After the front porch we decided to go with HQ construction to get siding and front door done.... The workers putting up the siding were polite and went above and beyond there job.... Clean up was amazing even helping us we other things (they helped us take our Christmas tree in the house!)... Front door also was done timely and efficiently.... I would highly recommended this company and I'm sure we are going to be seeing Ed and his crew alot with our other home Reno's!

They renovated our kitchen. The customer service is outstanding. The company owner was there every step of the way. There attention to detail and hard work was amazing. Having had very successful kitchen and flooring renovations completed by Ed and his crew in our previous home, we turned to him when we needed carpeting in a bedroom and stairs in our new home. Ed helped us pick the right carpeting and colour and that involved some discussion as we were looking for high quality for the long term, not the cheapest option available. The carpet had to be ordered so it took a few weeks to arrive but a date was set for installation and work proceeded on that day. We were pleased to see that Ed's master installer, Chris was on the job as he was key to the excellent carpet install in our last home. He and Andrew worked as a great team and finished in a day. Ed came by later and helped me vacuum the carpeting and that was appreciated. With the remaining carpet, Ed measured up 3 closets and had custom edged mats made at no charge. This is typical of Ed's commitment to his customers - great quality, great service at an agreed upon price. We highly recommend Ed and the HQ crew for your renovation project. If you are looking for a company for your reno project...you have found them! Ed is personable, has great follow-up, a communicator and keeps his trades and you well informed of dates, times and the task(s) that are going to be happening in your home the day they arrive. Ed takes on your project likes it's his own! He listens to your needs, wants and executes them...you will not be disappointed! We found HQ Construction by chance as we were in transition of purchasing a resale home and called him a couple of days after we moved in and Ed came right over...our project was started a couple of weeks after our initial meeting at the house. Our reno included a powder room, laundry room, master bedroom bathroom and a 4' x 8' sit-up kitchen island with beverage fridge, recycling pull out drawer, pot drawers and storage. We started in July and finished in early to mid September 2018. The wait was mostly due to the cabinetry timing (custom) but the finish product was well worth it...we are very happy with the results.

Basement Reno..... Ed was exceptional and easy to talk to and communicate with. He did drawings for the project and we were able to customize it to suit our family. The companies that were hired by Ed were both great and somewhat disappointing. The flooring guys were amazing and by far were the best. The framing guys were really good at framing (even framed in my cabinets to be counter sinked into the wall so they didnt stick out alot. I was installing my cabinets myself and they made it very easy for me as they did an amazing job framing it for me.). But they also did the taping and mudding and this was poor quality. I had them come back a few times and it still looked very rough and messy. I ended up patching/mudding all the areas in question myself. The electricians did a great job and also installed other lighting that I was going to do on my own. Plumbing was only rough ins as I was installing the bathroom and wet bar on my own but it was very easy for me to work with. I also installed the cabinets, fireplace, shiplap wall, trim, painted and installed the pot lights (they were wired but had to cut the drywall and fit them in). I am really happy with the overall project. Ed was there from start to finish and was extremely helpful, available, honest and reliable. I will hire Ed again for future projects.

HQ Construction did a complete basement finish for us......from the ground up. We spoke to Ed about our ideas and he created a 3D plan of what it will look like. And now that we're finished, it's spot on. He provided a very detailed timeline and was in constant contact with us to let us know next steps and was on site frequently to check on the progress. He is very detailed oriented, professional and polite. His team of various trades did very good work, friendly and are hard workers. Any issues that cropped up, and there were only a few minor ones, were addressed promptly. The project was completed on time, as per the timeline. We found his pricing to be very competitive. This was our first major project and with Ed's knowledge & guidance it was fairly stress free. I would 100% recommend HQ Construction without hesitation. We originally hired HQ Construction and Supplies (HQ) to do a complete bathroom renovation. We were so pleased with the work, we subsequently contracted with them to do several additional smaller renovations in our home. They have a trustworthy, courteous and hardworking group of craftsmen. All the professionals that came into our home to do work paid amazing attention to detail. Ed, the owner of HQ immediately responded to any phone calls, texts/emails. Aside from a few minor hiccups (all projects of this scale will have them), they far exceeded all our expectations. We had a general idea of what we wanted, however, having no idea of the scope of these sorts of projects, we left the design and details to Ed. With each project he presented us with detailed plans. The plans outlined what work was to be done, what specific dates they were to be done, and obviously the project costs. Ed was very accommodating when we requested changes mid-project. He was also on top of every detail. I am sure we’ve all heard stories of contractors being difficult, not on time, over budget and unavailable. Ed was none of those things. We feel blessed that we found our way to HQ’s storefront. We’d be remiss not to mention several of the workmen who worked on the renovations. Bill, (we call him Construction Bill) handled so many different aspects of the projects. His finish carpentry is a sight to behold. Mark, the painter – did such exacting and beautiful work. We had our staircases replaced and he did the staining of the stairs, the bannisters et cetera. We did run into a little issue with staining the stairs, but Mark worked at it until it was perfect in his eyes and ours. Emilio, the tile installer. We are not even sure where to start. Suffice to say that we were very very pleased with the work that he did tiling the shower, the downstairs bathroom floor, our front entryway, the kitchen backsplash and the upstairs bathroom. Everyone from Ed to Rowena to the people noted above, and the electrician and plumbers, worked hard to make sure things went as smoothly as possible. The projects came in on time, on budget and above and beyond our expectations. We will definitely use HQ again and very happily recommend HQ with no reservations whatsoever. And briefly, a long overdue thank you to Ed. Thank you for your professionalism, your responsiveness, your keen eye for detail and your ability to envision what we wanted from our renovations.

The kitchen transformation is incredible and beautiful. It was hard to imagine the projected kitchen plan, and I am thrilled with the finished product. The renovation was finished ahead of schedule, which was a pleasant surprise.

They gave a written schedule of the timelines of each trade - demolition, framing, drywall, hardwood flooring, stairs and railings and painting and it was adhered to. Follow up was great.

At first very skeptical ... but as we go on with the project , we find out that Ed , our contractor, really listened to what we want , how , what , when and why ? He is so professional addressing our needs and wanting the best and the new design and product specifically on ours bathroom . We're very happy and he's highly recommended !! He's on schedule too . We had a bathroom put in as well as other details finished in our rec room. We had door trim, some drywall patching, and some shelving for storage added, as well as an insulated door put on our cold cellar. Ed was very accommodating and eager to please with his work. His team was very respectful and they tried to keep all messes to a minimum. We are very pleased with the work that was done and would have them back in a heartbeat if we need anything else done.

They kept me informed every step of the way. Made suggestions on how best to satisfy my remodelling needs. They finished the work on time and clean up after. The area was so clean after completion, you would never guest I had just completed a remodelling project. As for the actual work done, it was done without exceeding my budget (or the original quoted price). At the end, the work was so good, it surpasses my wildest expectation. I would definitely use them again. I have even recommended this company to my friends. I am a very satisfied customer. JOB WELL DONE.

We are so pleased to have opted to have HQ construction do our main floor renovation 2 years ago. Recently we wanted to have a little extra job done. Though we had a general idea of what we wanted in a bathroom reno, Ed and his staff drew up several computerized layouts allowing us to better establish the final design. He prepared a detailed cost estimate of the project and a workable schedule of activities for each day. His crew acquired all the materials in advance of the start date and brought everything before the first day of work so that once started, they would not have to delay. We gutted the bathroom ourselves to save some time and cost then his crew reinforced the walls, installed a new tub and tiled the surround and floor, then installed a new toilet. All wiring and plumbing was completed by skilled and licensed tradesmen. The final touch was the installation of a rolling glass door. The end result is beyond our expectations. It's been a year since installation and there have been no problems at all. We still get many complements when guests come over and get to see the new bathroom. Thanks Ed, for sticking to the budget, finishing earlier than scheduled, and paying great attention to detail. We would not hesitate to use Ed again or recommend him to others.

My kitchen counter, sink and faucets were very out dated and needed to be replaced. I had a fairly modest budget to work with but wanted stone counter top and undermount sink. HQ were able to meet all my expectations. At all times the contractors were respectful, meticulous and always showed up at the time given. The finished product has completely changed the appearance of my kitchen. I am very impressed with the workmanship and professionalism of this company and have recommended their services to others.

We wanted to update and renovate our ensuite bathroom last year and we searched around for a reputable company to do the work. We found HQ Construction & Supplies and when we went to get some information and consultation Ed was very helpful, courteous and friendly. He had an array of floor and wall tiles and vanities and we liked that he had staged bathrooms on site. Once we chose our colours and supplies, Ed promptly provided quotes and a reasonable timeline. During construction, he was diligent in maintaining a clean environment and made sure that the area was tidy when the workers left. He came every day to inspect and make sure the work was on schedule and done accordingly. When a times a few problems arose (hidden pipes) Ed was quickly to respond and explain the situation and the detours that needed to happen.We were very happy with the outcome.
