My husband and I lost our home in the Palisades fire in 2025, and we hired Kevin on the spot after a phone call within a couple weeks of the disaster. We could just tell that he was the right person to get us home, and he came highly recommended by our amazing contractors. Kevin completely understood our goals, and we were able to move very quickly through the entire permitting and design process. He designed every inch of the house except the furniture. He came with us to all the vendors to choose the tile, marble, flooring, appliances, fixtures etc. We trusted him so completely that we preferred to have him lead the way on our selections, and we could not be more thrilled with the results. Kevin has a strong attention to detail, and we wanted to make sure all of the elements fit the style of the home and his overall vision. He is not only a genius architect, but he is also a great person. He is calm, kind, and compassionate. It has been such a pleasure working with him. We wholeheartedly recommend him.

Kevin was an excellent partner in our first-time home remodel project. Not only did he design a beautiful space that meets the needs of our family, he also went above and beyond in supporting the build process. He was available to answer questions big or small and met with our contractor weekly to troubleshoot problems. We first met Kevin as his tenants, living in a property he’d remodeled over a decade before, which still feels smart and fresh. When we embarked on a home renovation of our own, he was the first person we called. Our home is a 1928 Tudor that had been Frankensteined over the years with illegal additions and structures. We wanted to honor the original and bring it back to its former glory—just with modern features that would make it more livable. Kevin helped us achieve both what we wanted and what legally needed to be done, which weren’t always aligned given the size of the project. He led us step-by-step through permitting, where his knowledge of complicated city regulation and requirements saved us multiple headaches and false starts. Kevin is a literal wizard with space planning and layouts (the man does not waste an inch), but he’s also the kind of guy who knows and truly cares about the original details and history of a home. He led us through the initial phases of our design with patience and efficiency, always listening to our ideas, but never wasting our time (and money) when our ideas were, well, not-so-great. Even though our project was a to-the-studs renovation, Kevin helped us preserve, restore or replicate so many original details that our home ended up having *more* character than we started with. When it comes to the finishing details, he’s an excellent and honest collaborator. We knew we wanted a lot of bold and unique decisions with our tile, stone, lighting and paint, and came to him with strong ideas. Kevin was an amazing sounding-board for making and executing all of our left-of-center choices. He always offered his candid thoughts, and respected when we decided on something other than his recommendations. He didn’t disappear when construction started, remaining hands-on to ensure all of our materials were installed correctly and well. When the renovation threw a curve ball, he was always there to help us trouble shoot without losing our original vision. In an industry where everyone tries to do the least for the most, Kevin always looked out for us. He cared about protecting our budget, time and overall sanity in an inherently crazy process. And if that’s not enough, he also makes some pretty good jokes. If we had to do it all over again, Kevin would still be the first person we’d call—but because of how talented he is, we hope to never leave the home he helped us build.

We needed an architect who could update our 1930 Spanish style home while keeping true to the beautiful details that we love about the house. Kevin did an amazing job and exceeded all our expectations! We needed to update our kitchen, family room, dining room and master suite. Kevin's design drew inspiration from other parts of the house and seamlessly integrated them into the remodeled parts of the house. For example, he put in new arched entryways that match ones in the older part of the house, and kept the unusual molding and millwork patterns from the dining room in the newly updated family room. At the same time, he made our kitchen and master bath/closet modern and open. His attention to detail and friendly, open and responsive manner made the whole project easy and fun. Highly recommend!!

As a first time home-remodeler guy, I was all worried and junk at the thought of someone coming into my house, putting a sledgehammer in the wall, and making my living room look like an Andy Gump. But that's when I met Kevin Oreck - calm, professional, and more handsome than Kevin Costner in Dancing With Wolves. When we met Kevin we were looking for a way to add a master suite onto our 1940's home, which had multiple awkward additions tacked on over the years by previous owners. Kevin came up with a cohesive floor plan that feels twice as big even though we only added 400 square feet. The flow and proportions are perfect and the house is now filled with light. Kevin was always available and our project ended up being completed slightly ahead of schedule. His taste is impeccable and he was conscientious of our budget throughout planning and construction.

Kevin is everything you want in an architect. When it came time to expanding our house, we sat down with Kevin and told him that we were looking to add a second floor in order for our girls to each have their own bedroom and for us to have a proper master bedroom. Kevin came back to us with two plans for adding a floor, but an even better plan for expanding out on the back of our house, staying on one floor. He didn't push this idea, but it was immediately apparent to us that his plan was the plan to go with – a fluid design that delivered on everything we wanted. Going forward, Kevin was meticulous throughout the entire process, always in communication with us, always available. He'd give his opinion but it was always up to us to make the decision. His taste is impeccable, though, and invariably the choices he offered up were spot on, both stylistically and budgetarily. In short, hire Kevin. You will not be sorry.

We had a new house built on a small lot with the goal of getting something that combined traditional elements with modern aesthetic. I wouldn't have been able to dream up a better home. Kevin works creatively, efficiently and so competently that a process that should have been a nightmare was actually a pleasure.

Kevin transformed our tiny, disjointed home into a beautiful and functional masterpiece. He provided us with the open space and modern amenities we needed, while preserving the character and charm of our beloved 1920's traditional.
