Our experience with MJS was excellent from start to finish. After visiting our home and listening to what we were hoping to create, our landscape designer came up with a comprehensive plan that we could view electronically and tweak easily to get to a final plan. The construction crew worked extremely well together and put in very long, full days. They were courteous, clean, and professional. There was strong communication daily from the construction crew, supervisors, and our designer, who was on site several times a week. We felt our opinions during construction were welcomed and valued. Overall we can say MJS was our best contractor experience and created a beautiful space that we will enjoy for many years to come.

We are so pleased with the MJS team – we worked extensively with Tracy and Raul and we received exceptional advice and service from the beginning of the project to the end of the project! Our yard was full of dead and oversized trees, scraggy bushes, uneven grass, dangerous steps to the backyard and a tired landscape. We gave Tracy a blank slate to design and asked her to assume that we’d be willing to take down any and all trees/bushes so that she could come up with a cohesive plan and fill the property with viable trees/bushes. We trusted Tracy to come up with a cohesive plan and work with the few elements we wanted to retain but generally we gave her free rein to design. I gave Tracy some magazine pictures to show her my favored style and pointed out a few plants that I like. She took these elements and her design plan was outstanding! Our only tweak was to swap out some of the flowers! In addition, her design plan to fix the steps from the front of the house to the back of the house (which were becoming dangerously uneven) was exceptional and she tied together the front and the back with stone and rock. She addressed some water flow needs by creating riverbeds to handle rainwater. She also added accents lights which make the property beautiful at night. Tracy prepared a 3D design which helped us visualize the concept. The team that implemented the plan was led by Raul and he and his team are exceptionally talented. He turned Tracy’s beautiful design plan into reality. We were in contact with Raul to address normal course matters that arise during big landscape projects. For example, we ended up creating an unplanned second riverbed to address some drainage issues that arose because of a heavy rainfall during the project. Their ability to implement changes so quickly was amazing. The before and after pictures are stunning and we have complete strangers slow down as they drive by the house and compliment the landscaping. We would highly recommend Tracy, Raul and the MJS team – they take great pride in their work and they designed and built a beautiful place for us to enjoy as a family. We are very grateful for their amazing work that we will enjoy for years to come.

We worked with MJS and David Fatla and our experience was absolutely outstanding. From the initial design and 3-D animated rendering, to the material selection, the professional and courteous crew, installation of the plants and trees, and great ending product it was all perfect. Now after a second summer the patio still looks at good today as it did the day it was finished. Also any trees that were struggling were also replaced a year later. It was overall an absolutely exceptional experience and is now an outdoor place we enjoy most of the year!

Extensively detailed planning from beginning to end. Tracy provided the perfect balance of offering choices & narrowing things down based on our preferences. We came in with a partial vision & she really brought it to life & balanced it perfectly with the style of our house & our neighborhood. Everyone who worked on the expansive project did an exceptional job! It’s obvious they take a lot of pride in the great work they do. Couldn’t be happier.

When searching for a landscaping company to do a large project in our backyard, we were disappointed at several of the local companies that we spoke with, that was until we met with David at MJS. Most places didn’t understand the design concept we were visioning and didn’t care to listen to our input. We wanted something that was not square lines, that flowed with our home and was not the typical design that is in most backyards. When we sat down with David, he really listened to what we wanted and he encouraged our thoughts throughout the entire project. Our outdoor kitchen, firepit area, large, beautiful pergola and patio are absolutely stunning. The pavers, lighting, large outcropping stones, trees and plants add to the elegance of our space. We have been receiving so many compliments on our yard. We received professional, friendly service from the start until the completion of our project as well as exceptional quality and workmanship. Our project was finished in a timely fashion in spite of some weather delays, they were flexible with design changes along the way and after every day the crew did a fantastic job of cleaning up from the day’s work. Huge shout out to David, Cal and his crew and our pergola builder Kevin Enright, for their outstanding jobs. We highly recommend MJS for any landscaping needs and thank them for building and seeing our vision of our peaceful, gorgeous yard which only added value to our home.

We had a rather challenging landscaping project on our newly constructed home that entailed a significant change in grade on a lot opening up to a wetland area with significant visibility to anyone entering the subdivision--a high visibility project. The hardscape design was exceptional and was created with 3D software. The team was open to adjustments during the project to make the design even more exceptional and to accomplish one of the project objectives of creating a space that would be mow-able. The creativity of the team was special and the buildout of the stone wall, including artistic placement of stone was excellent. The team worked seamlessly with the concrete drive and patio vendor and plumber (for gas firepit) to complete a patio seat wall with pillars and firepit with rock outcropping steps placed artistically in the hip of the grade change with Kichler Pro Series low voltage landscape night lights to create an inviting environment at night. The plantings were well thought out and delivered and planted timely to allow them to take hold during this summer-time project. Great watering instructions and guidance was given directly by the project designer following multiple on-site visits throughout the project. The project also included a full-yard seeding with straw mat followed by owner watering and care to fully establish the lawn. The team came back multiple times to timely fertilize and recommend watering adjustments. This resulted in a fully-established and vibrant lawn within a couple of months. Topsoil selection, final grade and fertilization made all the difference. The project also included angular stone chips within edging around the entire home and buried downspouts. We had one up-light go dark and MJS team members were back out within a day or two to replace what turned out to be a bad bulb. Leave-behind watering gators and tree staking helped to assure that the trees got off to a great start. The communication between the project designer, the on-site project manager and us as owners was exceptional. We never had to wonder what was happening and when. Recommendations for plan tweaks were discussed thoughtfully and allowed us to approve any changes in a timely manner. The team really focused on delivering an exceptional project, on-time and within budget.

Paul and Doug’s installation team worked tirelessly to finish the project, payed special attention to every detail, and executed the landscape plan flawlessly. Just built a house. MJS Landscaping should get more than 5 stars. David was great to work with. He listened to our vision and then added his expertise to our project. The crew that worked on our property exceeded expectations. They discussed what was going to be done, if we had any questions and made our forever home that much more enjoyable. The crew cleaned up after each day, walked us thru lighting, maintenance, and overall upkeep of the things we purchased ( stone, pavers, shrubs, trees, etc.) Happy wife, Happy Life! We could not be happier with the landscaping project with MJS. We engaged them to perform a major redo of our landscaping, including the patio in back, walkways around each side of the house and all plantings next to the house. Our designer and project lead was Tracy and she was just what we needed. We had a vague idea of what we wanted and she asked all the right questions and gave the right advice to get us there. She listened to our concerns and questions and was a good communicator. If she didn't have an answer to a question she didn't fake it but instead said she would find out--and she did so quickly. Follow-up was always timely and complete. The crew was friendly, cleaned up on a regular basis and was very competent and careful with their work. Tracy kept a watchful eye on progress. The final result was stunning and exceeded our expectations. We would confidently recommend them.
